Final bill confusion
Hi, can anyone from Virgin help please?
We switched from Virgin to BeFibre and received email confirmation we have no early disconnection fee.
We received a final bill from Virgin clearly stating, and I quote, “we will only charge you for the days before you disconnect on 18 April even if your usual billing period is longer.”
Our March bill covered the period from 26 March to 25 April and was paid by direct direct. By my calculation that actually means Virgin owes us for having paid in advance for a service we won’t have from 18 April to 26 April.
The final bill now says we owe £84.81 (another reason we’re leaving for the ridiculous hike in price now our introductory offer has finished) for the period 26 April to 25 May. It also says if we cancel any direct debit we’ll have to pay a late payment fee.
This makes no sense. Why should we pay for a service we’re not getting under the threat of a late payment fee if we cancel a direct debit? I had a complete nightmare after signing up with Virgin to get the billing discounts sorted and must have lost two days of my life trying to get it fixed.
I’ve also had no communication about returning equipment.
