Does anyone know what criteria Virgin Media used to select who received an email about Eurosport.

Hi

I am an avid Eurosport fan, for the cycling, in fact I joined Virgin when Plusnet told me on renewal in March 21 that they were stopping offering Eurosport. Virgin would offer me Eurosport if I took the Sport Lite add-on to the tv package. I paid extra for this package, and still do. What I don't understand is why some people have received an email, "because they watch Eurosport", offering to switch them to TNT sport for free. I have had no email from Virgin and would therefore like to know what criteria was used to decide who received the offer.

Many thanks.

Hi, my husband I are avid cycling, skiing and golf fans. We watch all the classics and tours. I haven’t had an email offering free TNT. Can you confirm that this offer will be available to all customers? Many thanks:

That is what I cannot understand. If you watch sports on eurosport , then why is is only high users of the channels, been sent an email . I know is is not virgin media fault, the channels are closing , but offering TNT sports at £12 a month instead , when  eurosport was in my package, does not interest me , to take up the add on of TNT sports.

  • I too, watch eurosport channels for cycling and snooker , but never got an email either.

Only an offer of TNT sports for £12 a month , instead.

That is why i am hoping quest,  show some of the cycling and snooker .

      Hi redviking

Sorry to hear you didn't get the email either. But at least you got some offer, I have heard nothing even though, as I said, I pay extra for it. I also pay for an extra box, so I can watch cycling without taking over the main TV. No cycling no need for the extra box either!!

Sorry to dissapoint but Quest is owned by Warner Bros, Discovery, so I some how don't think they will be showing any cycling events on there.

        Very Insightful Person

        Info below from https://rxtvinfo.com/2025/eurosport-to-stop-broadcasting-on-sky-virgin-media-and-ee-tv/

WBD has confirmed that following the closure of Eurosport, a selection of sports programmes and documentaries will be made available on free-to-air channel Quest, available on Freeview channel 12.

The free-to-air sports broadcasts will be used to promote the TNT Sports pay TV service and WBD’s streaming service.

In 2025, this will include broadcasting every MotoGP Sprint race, adding to existing live Bennetts British Superbikes coverage, a brand-new weekly cycling show covering all key moments of the season, continued highlights of the Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta a España, plus premiering a range of new sports documentaries

        And the following from https://www.cordbusters.co.uk/eurosport-channels-closing-tnt-sports-takes-over/

While premium sports content is moving behind TNT Sports’ paywall, Warner Bros. Discovery is expanding its free sports offerings through Quest (available on Freeview channel 12, Freesat 167, Sky 144 and Virgin Media 137).

Now, with the Eurosport integration, Warner Bros. Discovery is further expanding Quest’s sports coverage to include:

        • A new weekly cycling show covering key moments throughout the season
        • Highlights of major cycling events including the Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta a España
        • Continued live coverage of Bennetts British Superbikes
        • New sports documentaries

Ok looks like i hope itv 4  show the cycling , this summer.

If TNT only show it , I will have to find another way to watch it .

Eurosport gave viewers an  alternative coverage to sports events , then the bbc and itv.

I thought all eurosport viewers would get the email offer , but it seems to be how much sport you watch.
