Credit file ammendment

Hi,

I was a customer with Virgin Media for many years and left early this year as ai moved country. I have had a default put onto my Experian credit file from Virgin Media as a result of an unpaid fee for the return of Virgin Hub box.

I returned the Virgin Media hub and paid the amount demanded by Virgin Media but the default remains on my Experian account months later. This is now causing me to lose my mortgage offer and I need Virgin media to send me a letter acknowledging that the box has been returned and the default will be removed from my credit immediately.

Please acknowledge this urgently! I returned the box and in good faith still paid the amount demanded to avoid anymore stress but the default remains on my account and I could lose my house because of this.

I can send any details asked of me but please help

  • Hello JoeGroom88.

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

We're very sorry to hear about the default on your credit report. As our Credit Amendments Team are a specialist department.

You'd need to speak to them. You can pop them a letter or email with the following information:

    Name

    Account Holders Name

Full Address where you had the services

A photo or screenshot showing the Virgin error on your credit file

    Contact details for yourself

They will investigate this and come back to you within 28 days.

     The contact options are:

By post at: Consumer Underwriting, Virgin Media, Eagle Court 3, Coventry Road, Sheldon, Birmingham, B26 3RZ

    Or via Email: creditfileamendments@virginmedia.co.uk

    Hope that helps,

    Gareth_L

      Thank you Gareth_L,

I have just replied to the Virgin team at creditfileamendments@virginmedia.co.uk detailing everything you asked me for. I have also settled all outstanding balances with Virgin media. I only require from the Virgin media team acknowledgment that they have received payment and intend to remove the default on my Experian Credit account.

If I can receive an email from the Virgin media team detailing these details I will be approved for my mortgage and will save my house.

Please, if there's anything you can do, expedite this for me. I am so worried I will lose my house and family as the mortgage offer is running out of time.

        Hi JoeGroom88,

Thanks for coming back to us on this one to confirm you've sent the details over to the credit file amendments team.

I'm afraid we don't have any way of expediting things via the Community. The team will pick up the email and get things updated as soon as they can.

Just so you're aware, the default wouldn't be removed as based on what you've said, it was correctly added however the credit file will be updated to show that the default is satisfied.

        Many thanks,
