Confused

Ive been with virgin for 2 years after they installed there cables into our block of apartments but why did they install the old cable and not the new cable with pure fibre it just seems a waste? I am planning on leaving Virgin Media soon as there speed is limited to 1GB when other providers that use the openreach networks have better speed. I just dont understand why they didn't install pure fibre and save them the job when you are already doing the work?

I cant wait to leave to use pure fibre without any problems I just seem to have nothing but trouble with Virgin with the dropouts the amount of times I have to restart the modem its a pain in the arse.

Virgin honestly I don't understand why you installed old cable instead of new cable when eventully you are going to have to change it in the future.

From a loyal Virginmedia Customer but times need to change

cheers

It's often a mistake to guess why there is a problem and you should get a tech round so long as there isn't an area fault.

There is always drop outs even with the new modem so it can only be cabling from outside coming inside. I am think of leaving to EE as it pure fibre cable coming in. Just waiting for the contract to end. I am fed up always a problem when I need really need the broadband. I've got a dying husband and I don't have time for all this.

Thanks for coming back to us davepeters772, and we're sorry for the issues that this is causing, on top of your husbands illness - please pass on our best wishes to him.

If you are possibly able to expand on the issues further in your own time, we would like to help where we can.

Do you experience issues on both wired and wireless devices on our services?

Has there been any diagnostics ran on the router or with the connections running to and from the router?

      Thanks,

      David_Bn

  • Hi davepeters772

    Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your confusion. There'll be a reason for the type of cabling installed, and when we expand the full fibre service to cover this building, we'll be sure to let you know via marketing.

Do you currently have any service issues at all, or is it just the query regarding the available network?
