Complaints

I had to submit a complaint last week. Basically, whilst installing a neighbour’s services somebody sliced my cable apart. I was left without services for two days and when they eventually came to fix it they lifted garden flags - but didn’t put them back properly.

The person I eventually spoke to on the phone said he would submit the complaint for me but I followed it up in writing. I’ve had nothing back from the original complaint that the person said he was submitting (surprisingly!) but have had something back from the one I put in writing.

That response said to restart my hub, like I wouldn’t have thought of that - and my service is working again!! Nothing about the damage they caused, nothing about the loss of service, nothing about the inconvenience. They trusted that I would be satisfied!

When I ring up the number they give me, I get through to the standard call centre. How do I speak to the mythical complaints resolution people?

You may possibly increase your chances of help on here by posting some photos of the damaged paving stones.

In many similar past topics on here, however, VM has simply kept customers in a never-ending back and forward of communication with little/no fixing going on in the hope that the customer gives up.

Here is a similar topic from the past

Unexpected visit of cable installer who damaged my patio and installed box in the wrong place. | Virgin Media Community - 5376966

Depending on the scale of the damage, you may need to go via a small-claims court route if VM fails to remedy.

A VM person should reply to your topic, usually within a few days.

Thanks, that was my thinking too after reading around. There’s a principle involved so I won’t be leaving it! I’ve submitted another complaint and replied to the email, so I’ll see what happens first.
