Cannot create My Virgin Media Account

I created a Virgin Media O2 ID account so that I could ask for help about a separate issue with virgin, but have since realised I must make a My Virgin Media account. When I click on the option "No account? Sign up" I am met with this: 

"Sorry, you can’t access this page

You don't have a Virgin Media account linked to your Virgin Media O2 ID right now. Tap the button below to link your account.

If you don't want to link your account now, go to your Virgin Media O2 ID and Security settings."

When I attempt to link my account, I am asked for an Account number and an Area reference number. I have not received either of these and therefore cannot input them. I placed an order with virgin for a broadband box and there was no mention of these numbers there either. What am I meant to do now, since I cannot create a My Virgin Media account but want to?

    We're sorry to hear you're having issues with setting up your VM O2 ID and linking your account. It's not quite clear if you're an active customer, who has already been installed, or whether you've ordered services and are wanting for your install. 

    Can you please confirm which?
