CA2004 code since engineer visit

Broadband has been intermittent at best for weeks, possibly a month, TV channels had been working fine.

Then out of the blue an engineer knocked on saying our property was knocking everyone else’s services off, they changed some cables and left. After they’d left the TV didn’t work and hasn’t worked since (two weeks ago).

Service has been shocking for ages and is getting worse, have checked all cables and seem to be right, now also have other providers knocking on door to get us to move to them, ties into a contract though that all the while am paying full price for.

Any ideas?

  • Hello Kerr616

It's really disappointing to hear of the service issues experienced since the engineer visit, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this with us via the forums and welcome to the community.

We have checked for the error code given and nothing matches CA2004, there is a CS2004 which has a help flow here but it indicates an issue with channels where you have advised none of the channels work.

From checking the connection and equipment there does appear to be issues with the power levels which will require a visit. I will send you a Private Message, please keep an eye out in the top right when signed into the forums for the envelope. This is where you will be able to find my Private Message and be able to respond.

  • Thank you for the swift response you are correct it is a CS2004 code on all channels WiFi also still buffering and cutting out every minute or so

also no private message yet except a text saying you’ll watch connection for 24 hours?

really regret staying with you and now stuck with at best **** Service until next September, hopefully next time BT knock on my door they’ll offer to buy me out of my contract

  • Hi - Can’t see anything

have done a lot of research, mainly as I have no tele and the coax is going into the router, it won’t permenantly sit in the tv box but when it’s placed there the tv comes back on but the wifi goes off

    not sure if that helps

      Hi Kerr616

If you click the message function. Top right handside. Next to the magnifying glass. Then my colleagues PM will be in there :).

      Hi Kerr616

The message should appear when you click on the envelope, however the forum has a few problems.   One of which is termed, "the disappearing inbox"

I have issues seeing PM's/DM's in my inbox. It appears to be empty even though it isn't.

There is a workaround for the disappearing inbox -

I eventually manage to get mine to appear by typing two letters such as  er into the search box, and then clicking on the Settings icon in that section, and then Show Unread Only.   It doesn't always work so I end up clicking on all the settings dropdowns in that section, and also on Inbox, Sent and Muted, until something works.

And then fingers, eyes and legs crossed, a list of your private messages (DM's) should then hopefully appear.

Hi Steven unfortunately not managed to see it yet

  • Hi Kerr616 👋

If you head to the top right corner of the page, there's an envelope (this is your Inbox.) It's between the search function and where it shows you are logged in.
Alternatively, please feel free to send Robert_P a direct message and he will be able to link it to the private message thread he started with you already. Thanks for your continued patience whilst we are offering further support! 🌞
