BOXED IN

I want to add the Mega TV 3 pack to my bundle.  It's advertised as including the stream box but I really want the 360 box for recording programmes.  Does anyone know if it is possible to have the stream box replaced by the 360 box?

  • Thanks for your reply.   I have just spoken to the sales team on the 1111 number and was told it is no longer possible to get the 360 box. Shame. As a senior citizen I used to enjoy being able to record programmes.

It's been mentioned on here recently that the 360 box can be added for a £50 charge.

Thanks for that but I was hoping for a free swap of the boxes

You can wait for a reply here from a VM person, but that is what others have been told.

You can change it to a V360 IF you are in an area served by the traditional copper cable TV infrastructure. If you are in one of the newer NexFibre FTTP regions it’s Stream boxes only.

If you have a coax cable going into your hub, you should be able to get V360. If you have a green fibre cable servicing it (Hub 5x) you won’t.

      Thanks for that information

My current router is the hub 3 which has a coaxial cable.   If I add the TV pack my router will be upgraded to the hub 5 which is also coaxial.  So fingers crossed I'll get the 360 box.

        Hi Dorsetdave,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

All our TV packages now come with the Stream box as standard. There isn't an option to switch this to the 360 box online. If you wish to do this, you'd need to contact the team on 150 / 0345 454 1111 and request the 360 box instead. There is a £49.95 activation charge for the 360 box though.

        Many thanks,

  • I originally had TV, broadband and landline.   I eventually dropped the TV but kept broadband and landline.  Consequently I still have the coaxial connections and can easily connect them as follows.

Coaxial cable from Virgin wall box to Hub 5                      Coaxial cable from 360 box to wall box                                      HDMI Cable from 360 box to TV

What would be left for a engineer to do to activate the box that would justify a £49.95 fee?

Thank you for your response. We appreciate what you have advised but the fee for this is £49.95. If you would like that box then you need to accept that charge.
