Bad credit file reporting, bad cust. service, email domain blocked, why should I come back?

Terrible issues with Virgin Media.

  • So, before moving, I called up and asked how much notice to give, the guy said, just tell Virgin on the day
  • Doing this the day after, Virgin billed me for the next month citing 30 day notification period. Ignored me when I told them what I was told by phone (and make notes from), and despite being initally told I would be part-refunded, this was ignored by the next rep and told me that I would be charged. Customers are just money, right?
  • I had issues returning the equipment and incurred charge.VM report me to credit reference agencies and affects credit score. Fair enough, but I had severe mitigating personal circumstances. Again, ignored.
  • I returned equipment, account zero. All good, right?
  • Virgin doesn't report that I have zero balance to credit file agencies.
  • Customer service in India, barely understand the problem relating to a credit score agency. Slow responses.
  • Tell me to email creditfileammendments department
  • My email (gmx.com) blocked
  • Tell customer support, they're hopeless and can't do anything, don't want to engage because, like it's work or something. They raise it to a complaint
  • Complaint resolution team humourously tell me to use a different email address (damn, why didn't I think of that). I respond to the email telling them I can't, that is my email address.
  • Email rejected.
  • Contact support again today. No help surprisingly. After one hour of not resolving the issue pass me to another advisor who ignore me.
  • Really not wanting to use any British company that outsources to India re poor terrible understanding of the problem and I have to re-explain at my (time) cost.
  • Unable to call due to speech impediment. Email domain blocked by Virgin for some stupid reason.
  • Virgin Media's utterly useless and terrible support, double-crossing advice costing me money, ignoring me when I attempt to explain what I was told, calling me a liar, mis-reporting to credit reference agencies, blocked email domains. Why should anyone want to use Virgin?
  • Is the only solution the legal route now? My credit file is being messed up and I have no way of contacting you other than having to write and print a letter again, at my cost?

Also, kindly explain why gmx.com as an email domain is blocked and why your support ignore and just cut off clients? I asked for my account to be closed and that was also ignored.

Virgin reps here, kindly sort out the removal of the gmx.com domain block, so I can at least email creditfileamendments. It's a simple issue that should be sorted in minutes.

  • This is ridiculous. I am considering legal action now. VM have affected my credit score and purports to be internally such a mess that it can't even receive customer emails. So I have to contact a third party to contact VM to correct a mistake because VM are refusing to do it directly? Do you see how idiotic that is?

I think this needs to be raised internally and quickly to remove the block, because this is the sixth attempt I've tried to fix your error which is having a huge negative impact on me. And I'm quite rightly quickly running out of patience and considering compensation.

  • Hi Afuello,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're sorry to hear you've had issues with sorting out a credit amendment. If the email is blocked, this isn't something we can unblock I'm afraid.

Once a balance has been cleared, it can take up to 6 weeks to reflect on a credit report. This is because the reporting agencies only run updates on your file once every 4 weeks. If it's been over 6 weeks since the balance was cleared and you're unable to create a new email address with another email provider, it would be best to raise the dispute directly with the credit referencing agency. Once raised with them, they will send the information to us and we'll take a look at this, correct anything that needs correcting and we then send the updates directly back.

Let us know if you have any further queries or questions.

    Many thanks,
