Advanced Quickpay Payment Help?

Hi,

I made an advanced payment via QuickPay as I thought this would clear my current direct debit for this month (just to get ahead of things) but it seems to have not?

Then I get an email that states the following:

“Please note, card payments do not reduce your Direct Debit amount. Your scheduled payment will be attempted as previously advised.”

So what’s the point? Did I just make myself pay twice for nothing or will this be knocked off my next bill? Confused…

    Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here. 

    I am so sorry that you have faced some confusion with your bill. To confirm if you have a direct debit set up it will be taken every month on the expected date unless cancelled. 

    If you have made an additional payment you can either, cancel the direct debit, though if you want the amount to be taken automatically you will need to reinstate it, or you can leave the payment as is and the extra amount paid this month will be applied to the next bill.
