How can I get out of it?
Yes I know I signed a contract... but unforseen circumstances mean I now need to leave the country.
Any advice please. And I dont feel comfortable lying.

There are a few limited circumstances to avoid paying. Moving abroad is not among them, unfortunately.
If you are being evicted, VM has seemed to be more willing to listen in some recent past topics.
If you're moving abroad, I'd cancel your DD and disappear into the sunset 😉
