£50 justeats voucher reward is pointless

About a month ago, I signed up for the 12 month student broadband package which comes with a £50 Just Eat voucher.
Yesterday I went to check my university emails and found an email had come through from 3rd October but because of university email security system, it had taken 7 days to be marked as safe as an external email.

When trying to claim my voucher, it says ‘this event is full’, and despite contact with virgin over the phone and web chat, nothing could be done because they told me the voucher is only valid for one day and had expired despite only reaching my email address 2 days ago.

Not sure why they offer an award if there’s a one expiry and there was nothing I could find which states a one day expiry. Make sure not to bother going with this deal if there is any sort of system which filters out external email addresses and virgin support were not helpful and kept telling me to go between phone contact and web chat.

      Have you checked the spam/junk box of your ac.uk  student email address?

      14-35 days post installation, eligible student broadband customers will be sent an email to their '.ac.uk' student email address with details on how to claim their gift card. Customers will need to submit their claim online and will then be sent the gift card.

      Hello,

      The exact same thing has happened to me too. We were sent a link to activate our voucher but once you proceed it says 'Sorry, this event is full.'

      Please could you also message me so we can arrange it to be sorted.

      Hi I have had the same issues, when i first got the email come through it kept coming up as an error when i tried to claim it, so i tried it a couple times again over the last few weeks and today after it finally recognised my account details it has come up with the same message, ‘this event is full’ with no further elaboration 

      i was wondering if it would be possible to have a message back to receive some help on getting it sorted 😁

      Hi, 

      I have a similar problem. My voucher was e-mailed to me 3 days ago. I click on the link, fill in the information (I make sure that the e-mail is the same as my account), and then I get this error:

      "Sorry it’s not yet time to claim your gift card - it can take up to 35 days after your Virgin Media broadband is installed for your gift card to be ready. Please come back in a few days and ensure you enter the same .ac.uk student email address that’s registered on your Virgin Media broadband account. [Err 333]"

      Not sure why an e-mail would be sent out stating "redeem your voucher" and it is not ready to be redeemed. Doesn't make much sense.

  • I installed my broadband on the 15 September and have yet to be sent an email about activating this £50 voucher. The deadline for activating it is the 30th October yet when I try and call for help the robot assistant thing gets me nowhere. Was just wondering how I could get this set up as the help online from virgin has not been useful.

  • I've already had a few problems when setting up my account. Was at least hoping for this to go okay as well. But nope. Never received the email I've checked my spam on two different emails.

  • Hi im in the same boat. Purchased the broadband on my .ac.uk email on the 23rd September, the installation has happened but still no Just Eat email or communication.

      Sorry to hear you're also having the same concern with the voucher. 

      It can take up to 28 days to receive gift vouchers when signing up through Virgin Media directly, and 100 days through a third-party site. 

      We are aware of this on our side, and it has been flagged for the team to investigate further. Please do let us know if you've not received any emails from the third party or Virgin Media within 28 days of your installation, and we can investigate this further for you if still needed. 
       

  • I had purchased the Gig1 Fibre Broadband student deal over a month ago and had everything delivered and installed for 3 weeks now, however I have still not received the Just Eat promo code that was meant to be sent to me as part of the student deal, how long should I have to wait for this and is this part of the promo still running?

      We were made aware of some delays with the delivery of these code by universities holding them for seven days. Can you confirm (without giving the actual email address) if this was a university based email address or a personal one set by yourself?
