Salesman identity
How can I verify the identity of the Virgin salesman who called to the house is genuine? I tried online chat and a variety of numbers which was zero help, an infuriating company to try and get in touch with.

General rule of thumb - If someone knocks on your door; its because they want something that you wouldn't otherwise agree to- i.e. a scam. If you want a virgin salesperson - call them - it's probably the only phone call they will pick up quickly?!

Sorry to hear of the concern and confusion caused by the recent visit from one of our doorstep sales agents, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this via the forums.
All of our doorstep sales personnel will carry and be able to produce Virgin Media identification when asked, was the agent you had a visit from able to provide this?
Hi, the agent has an ID badge etc but I wanted to verify his ID with Virgin directly. There are so many people scamming people these days I’d rather be sure before continuing any conversations and potentially parting with any money, Is there a way you can confirm this internally please?

Thanks for coming back to us on this. Whilst we'd be able to check if the name of the person is on our Sales Field Team list, we would not be able to confirm the identity in terms of whether the person who visited you, is indeed the person named as an agent.
The best advice I can give is if you feel unsure in anyway, but want to join Virgin Media, you can take a look at available deals online here or speak to the Sales Team on 0800 183 1234.
