Internal Server error

Hi,

I am unable to access virgin media community via my PC. I get a white page with 'internal server error'

Also, when I attempt to access virginmedia.com I get the page loaded up for a few seconds and then the page just goes blank.

I have refreshed IP on my PC, it's all connected to the Internet. I can access all other websites. These are the only ones I am having issues with. Anyone else having issues with Virgin Media websites or can give any help?

I have reset router and few times, but still no difference.

Thanks

Gary

  • Have you tried different browser's, if you are using chrome you could try using a chrome incognito window to see if that works.

Also try Firefox and maybe Edge.

You could also try deleting the cache for that browser if using a different browser works.

    Hi Gary,

I have no issues with the Community Forum pages which is on a completely different url to the main VM website.  There were a few issues with the community forums around tea time but all cleared up now

I've managed to resolve my problem accessing VM pages when using the Chrome browser, however it hasn't worked with Edge, Firefox or Brave browsers. ( It might be due corrupt browser or system files)

I remembered that I uninstalled Ccleaner around the time I lost access to the VM pages.  Although I hadn't used it for a long time, when I did use it, it used to clear my browser(s) cache and also registry entries.

I thought it might have corrupted some of my registry so i ran SFC /scannow using the windows  terminal in admin mode.  This found corrupt system files and repaired them.

I can access from Firefox and MS Edge on my 64-bit Windows 10 PC. I do run these at intervals:

    chkdsk /f
    SFC /scannow

    Checked system registry, no errors.

Cleaned all cache on all browsers, tried incognito mode on all and I still can't access virginmedia.com or the virgin media community sites. I've also just noticed that when I connect my mobile to my WiFi I also can't access the sites from my phone, so seems there may be an issue with my Internet?? I can access all other websites.

      Hi again Gary

I've just double checked on my mobile.  I can access VM pages if I use my O2 sim on Chrome and Firefox, however can't access them if using VM Wifi

Try SFC /scannow on your computer and then try Chrome again. It might give you access as a workaround for now

Same for me, i can access on o2 sim but as soon as i use VM WiFi, it blocks me.

I have tried SFC /scannow and it still isn't allowing me access to any VM websites.

When i check the console (f12) when on virginmedia.com I get 3 errors.

2 x Cross-Origin Request blocked: The same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https://ct.virginmediao2.co.uk/graphql

And also an ERROR ApolloError: Http failure response for https://ct.virginmediao2.co.uk/graphql: 0 unknow error

No idea what any of that means, if anything but other websites don't give these errors.

These errors are showing on Firefox.

On Chrome I'm seeing ERR_CONNECTION_RESET within the network console

  • I also have this issue since the new forum went live.  I have tried Firefox and Chrome, cleared caches on both and still the issue persists.  My workaround is to use Chrome and then use a VPN with a London endpoint, I can then connect without issues as you can see by this post.

In my console in Firefox I see an error: X-Cache: Error from cloudfront.

Maybe Cloudfront doesn't like my VM IP?

      Hey,

Thanks for the info. I will try with VPN as a workaround

Yesterday I performed a Firefox refresh as I was having other issues like slow website loading and today I can logon to this forum using Firefox without any issues.

Maybe that fixed it ot maybe VM did something their end.
