Hub 5 security with IoT devices
Hi, I had some issues with my camera doorbell after a new Hub 5. It was the smart WiFi and is resolved now but while researching this I found quite a lot of articles warning about IoT devices and how they can be unsecure etc. Now I only got 1 Ring doorbell and it's on my main network and after reading those articles it made me somewhat worried. So is it really recommended to separate any IoT from the main net. Would this be best done maybe with the guest network on the Hub. Is the guest network on the Hub 5 fully separated from the main network were guest has no access to any devices on the main net? Or is this all unnecessary and stick with the hubs out of box settings but just with a long password? Thanks.Solved88Views0likes3CommentsService disruption and updates.
Hub 5, 1 Gb service. Its usually very solid, but over last few days I have had a number of blips, where the service has dropped. I thought may be they doing some maintenance, and sure enough after one of the blips, checking the HUB showed its software had been upgraded to LG-RDK_11.10.2-2410.5 I presume it security, but anyone know whats in the update? At the same time.. I started to get a security warning on trying to connect to the hub 5 (on the IP 192.168.0.1)... saying the certificate is not issued by a trusted authority. Certificates are not something I expect to have to mess with... anyone else seeing this? are VM going to fix?634Views0likes16CommentsMail App reads "Forbidden" and won't allow access
To preface, I have recently had difficulties with hackers getting into my ntlworld email account. Following security advice, I have: Signed out of all devices. Changed my password (from a confirmed non-compromised device, just in case), then removed the password in favour of the more secure passkey. Changed my login email to a third party email address. I've also been monitoring the Activity Log for sign ins and not seen any new ones I don't recognise. While I still have access to my Virgin Media O2 account login, when I go to my Mail app page, I am now receiving a "Forbidden" page. I am assuming it's been locked for security reasons. I have seen in other threads that the third party email often fixes this, but I can't see any other way of unlocking this. Can anyone assist?80Views0likes3CommentsBlueyonder email account compromised
Today it seems scammers from Nigeria accessed my fathers blueyonder email account. I deduce this from the mail hedder containing: X-Originating-IP: 102.88.111.43 I am wondering if there has been any large scale hack of blueyonder data? or anyone knows of a substantial number of similar issues lately? I am a long way away so trying to give my dad support remotely, and have just completed a full system scan of his computer but cannot detect any virus/mallware/spyware active. I also cannot contact blueyonder on his behalf via email, which is annoying... Any information / support would be appriciated5.3KViews0likes3CommentsNeed to change password on Blueyonder email
Hi, hope someone can help. I am an ex VM customer. When I left, I was told my email addresses would be deleted in 90 days. 5 years later they havent been, but hackers have now got access to my Blueyonder email address and the password. VM no longer gives me the facility to log on and change the password, but has left the email account active. This means hacker is trying to gain access to other online accounts etc by exploiting their access to my email account. How can I change the password on my Blueyonder email address or even just completely disable/delete the email address?706Views0likes3Comments
