How to get compensation for non-working home phone?
My 91 year old mother's home phone has been out of order for 2 days now. She's very vulnerable & I have no other way of contacting her. Virgin have still not fixed the issue, & I've tried for 30 minutes to actually get through to a HUMAN BEING on their useless customer service line, but it's just one chatbot after another, & each one of them puts the phone down on me & sends me a text which is nothing to do with my query! I want to know: A) How to claim compensation for my mother's loss of service - her landline is very expensive - and B) How to make a complaint about Virgin Media's appalling customer service? I tried the complaints form on this website but it doesn't work; none of the fields after the first 2 could be completed. How convenient! 🙄 I'd be grateful for any ideas, thanks!271Views0likes3CommentsCaller ID not working following Engineer visit
Although we do not use the landline too much these days, I have noticed that since the engineer visit last month the 'Caller ID' service does not appear to be working and wonder if the visit has affected it. I shall be pleased if you will advise how I can reinstall the service. Thx Carl217Views0likes0CommentsLandline number not ported!
I recently ordered a package phone and broadband at the start of January. I was told it will take 7 days to port my landline number from Vodafone. So i took the 12th January as my installation date. I made the lady aware that i use my landline for my business and it is diverted to my mobile as i am a sole trader. On the 12th January, i got my broadband hub through the post. The broadband was up and running but they had given me a new number. I rung virgin again and asked what was going on. THEY HAD NOT EVEN REQUESTED TO PORT THE NUMBER FROM VODAFONE OR EVEN TAKING OVER THERE BROADBAND SO I HAD 2 PACKAGES NOW. She then requested the port from vodafone and to take over my services from them. I was told this would be completed on the 22nd January (today). Today morning i called myself from the virgin landline and it called my number from the number i was porting so i thought all good. I rung virgin to activate my call divert and when she asked me for my number, i gave my number that was ported and she said thats not the right one. THE NEW NUMBER FROM VIRGIN WAS BACK ON FOR SOME REASON. I called myself again from my virgin landline and it was the new number from virgin and not the number that was meant to be ported (although this was not the case a few hours earlier). Now they are investigating what is going on and my number that should have been ported shows as "number not valid" when i try calling it. What could have gone wrong? I CANNOT afford to lose my number and i am now losing business due to this problem. Any help would be much appreciated as i need this sorting out ASAP.2.8KViews0likes17CommentsNo dialing tone to home phone landline wall socket 4 days.
Hello There is no way to contact customer services on here anymore via chat. I have no landline now since 4 days. I tried to report it online i was promised engineer on thur 21st March he came stated he doesn't fix landlines someone will come in the morning, on fri 22nd. No one showed up. I chased up online after going around in circles trying to find webchat support, this now seems to have been stopped? I was assured it is being looked into. Now you can not report anything online. I was promised a call back this never happened. Virgin have fixed the landline to the reception area of my building which also has a wall socket, but have failed to fix mine. This is a landline plugged into the wall. Very frustrated.647Views0likes7CommentsNeed adaptor to set up landline

Hi there, Forum newbie here. I switched over to Virgin Media when fibre was installed in my street in November. I had had a landline up until then but the engineer indicated that I wouldn't be able to have a home phone line until the 'service' was installed. Not having a landline for 4 months now is proving very inconvenient and I fear I will have lost the number we have had for years (and that our friends/family have in their address books). Is there any way of connecting up a landline in the interim before our area is "serviceable" (in the words of the VM customer service team) AND is there a way of finding out how long it is going to be before our area is connected to the new service? Thanks so much!396Views0likes1CommentHow to retrieve landline from virgin to Port
Hi. My contract with Virgin ended last week. They closed my account before community fibre could port the number over. I’ve asked virgin I’ll be happy to pay line rental if they can retrieve the number back. Some lady I spoke to said she will send a form to get this done. It’s been more than 72 hours. She said the line rental will be £17.99 a month on a rolling contract for just landline which gives me enough time to port my number over. Are they messing me around or is this no longer possible.411Views0likes2Comments
