Virgin not honouring contract?
Good afternoon all, on the 25th march I upgraded my broadband package to include megaTV and sky sports + Sky cinema. I was quoted £86 for the new package which included M350. I received my pre contract info and everything was as expected. fast forward to the next day (26th march) and I received an email titled ‘thanks for making those changes’, which had my new contract in. However the price was £50.73 for the agreed package. I phoned up Virgin to confirm what price I would be paying and they said it was the £50.73 package which had a discount included. now, in the App it’s saying my monthly bill is £86, even though the contract says £50.73. I’ve questioned it again and they are denying all knowledge of the cheaper contract, even though it’s in my active contracts on the website! has anyone else experienced this? Or know how to deal with it?60Views0likes3CommentsVirgin media 1gig deal - legit or scam?
Our 1gig broadband promo offer has come to an end and going up from £26 to £75. I spoke to virgin and the best they were able to offer was £46/month. I told them to terminate the service. I searched virgin media deals on Facebook and came across a post of a private individual advertising VM broadband packages. I reached out and the deal is £36.99 + extra £90 credit for the same 1gig broadband-only package, 18 month contract. It would have to be set up as a new customer which shouldn’t be a problem as I can just put it on my partner’s name. The person claims they work for Virgin Media. To verify this, I asked him to send me a written confirmation of this offer via email, from his VM domain. I figured if it’s a scammer, they would make some excuse as to why they cannot do this. But within minutes I received the email exactly as requested. The email outlined all the specifics of the deal, the name matches that on his Facebook account and the email address it came from is <hisname>@virginmediao2.co.uk. Screenshot of the email below. The email signature is his name, position (Account Field Executive) and mobile number. He said the contract is with Virgin Media and everything goes through them including direct debit etc. So I am wondering.. Can this be legit or does it seem too good to be true? What other checks can I carry out to confirm it’s authentic? Are there ways to spoof a domain? If it’s a scam, how does it work? Would appreciate any relevant insights on this 🙂 many thanks in advance!1.7KViews0likes11CommentsExisting customer deal - Disney plus hidden in the small print
Have been offered 1gig broadband for £3 extra a month on my current package via an email offer. When I click through to sign-up and review the contract summary, Disney has been miraculously added, but is not mentioned anywhere else. I don’t even know what it costs. How do I accept this deal without the ‘secret’ add on? Apologies for posting here but that was the recommendation of Virgin’s customer service department who clearly weren’t willing to help.729Views0likes1CommentWhat kind of deal could I hope to negotiate?
Long-term customer, over 20 years since before it was Virgin Media. Currently on a Big Volt Bundle incl. M500, VIrgin Phone and Virgin TV. Was £36.00 for 18 months, which expired this month. Now I'm paying £71.00. Can't find any details on what kind of contract deals are available to current customers, rather than new customer-only deals. What have people been able to negotiate in similar situations?6.4KViews0likes3Comments
