Can't find email app password
Hey folks. I wanted to start what I thought would be a trivial task of moving to a new laptop and re-setting up my Outlook mail client to my virgin / ntlworld mail account. Despite numerous guides, having to seemingly setup linked O2 accounts, I still can't find or see where this is done? Why is this so difficult? - when I sign into My virgin their own guides say this: When I go to https://www.virginmedia.com/myvmo2/home it just stays on "signing in" from my old and new laptop. I can get to it via my phone browser (god knows why) and I go to Account settings - I see Virgin Media mail settings. But when in that section nothing about app passwords. Ideally I'd just like to see my existing one, but failing that how do I find where to create one? Thanks in advance.108Views0likes1CommentVM app passwords don't work
Hi All, I have a problem with the Virgin Media-generated app passwords. My account stopped working yesterday, I changed my password and generated a new app password, which, however, did not work in my Outlook and iPhone Mail app. I repeated the procedure several times, and none of the subsequent app passwords generated through my VM account worked. I have access to my webmail, but can't use Outlook or iPhone Mail. I contacted the help desk via webchat this morning, I was told that all is well on their side, and I should contact Gadget Rescue for help (for a charge). I would be grateful for any suggestions on how to resolve this problem. Thank you for reading this.129Views0likes4CommentsI'm unable to reset the password of my ntlworld email address
I was asked to generate a new App password when trying to access my ntlworld email address via the android app. I completed this process and undated the new generated password into my App server settings. This appeared to work and I can still send and receive emails via the android app on my phone. Unfortunately I'm now unable to access my ntlworld emails via any Web browser. It does recognise the email address or password. So I've tried to use the "reset password" on my ntlworld email address but it does not appear to recognise my email address. My main virgin media account is on a different email address which I don't use for email. If I entered my main VM account email address I'm worried it will reset that password rather than my email ntlworld address. Any help greatly apricated Karl997Views0likes3Comments
