I was the first person at work to get home broadband, with virgin, (256kbs which was fast in those days) and this address always served as a reminder of that. Waste of a morning but better than being cut off in my prime. Re: Email cancelation I have had them for thirty years, how much later is later? Re: Email cancelation I have two other virgin.net email addresses (you were allowed to set up mutliple emails when I first joined in '97) these have not received the same mail. Re: Email cancelation There is no return email address, so a no reply email though the sender was em.virginmedia.com. Header analysis shows it came from Germany. I have no idea where virginmedia is based. ipTRACKERonline.com Header Analysis Quick Report Originating IP: 52.58.118.49 Originating ISP: Amazon-02 City: Frankfurt Am Main Country of Origin: Germany Re: Email cancelation Was a virgin customer but still using the .net account. I no longer use the virginmedia.com account. Email cancelation I have two virgin email accounts. The first is a virgin.net account that I have had since 1997. The other is a virginmedia.com account that I got when I signed up for broadband. Today I got an email to my virgin.net account saying they are cancelling my virgin media email. Which account are they talking about? Are they talking about both? There are no contact details in the email. I don't use the virginmedia account but the .net is my main account and has been for nearly thirty years. I can't lose that. "As you no longer have Virgin Media services, your Virgin Media email address will become inactive. We’ll close your Virgin Media email account in 30 days, which means you won’t be able to access your inbox after that and contents of your account will be removed and permanently deleted." SolvedRe: Message sending failed Issue resolved itself. Message sending failed 3rd April 2024 and I am unable to send mail. When I use curl I get the following error. curl -v smtps://smtp.virginmedia.com -u <email>:<password> * Trying 84.116.6.19:465... * connect to 84.116.6.19 port 465 failed: Timed out * Failed to connect to smtp.virginmedia.com port 465 after 21088 ms: Couldn't connect to server * Closing connection curl: (28) Failed to connect to smtp.virginmedia.com port 465 after 21088 ms: Couldn't connect to server Re: Spam warning on every message Yes, the issue sorted itself out. Re: Spam warning on every message I was (am) using thunderbird and the following day it was working again. In the meantime I did use webmail which worked without a problem
