At one point before router reset other day two channels had near 1k+ post rs errors I had 0 post rs errors previously its only just started Only posting here because live chat dont seem to be much help on this matter. Re: Miserable latency, Sperodic packet loss, Post RS Errors, Pre RS Errors - HUB5 1gb service Yes all test come back 'ok' not great, speeds are fine latency is hit and miss with the expection of samknows but I'm guessing that's using a perfect routing system. expection is waveform bufferbloat test which show really high latency during load like 300+ Ms spikes. Both on down and up. And gaming seems really 'off' hard to explain doesn't feel consistant like you'd expect Re: Miserable latency, Sperodic packet loss, Post RS Errors, Pre RS Errors - HUB5 1gb service All cables within my home are fully secure, was checking this last night, not easily undone anyway I'll check errors when I get home to see any changes and will try organise an engineer. Hopefully won't get same one as last time when didn't really care much. Re: Miserable latency, Sperodic packet loss, Post RS Errors, Pre RS Errors - HUB5 1gb service I saw this as i was posting i didn't even notice these at first. Was only looking at the post rs pre rs. Does this suggest internal issue or external? And what's best course of action live chat haven't been helpful. Miserable latency, Sperodic packet loss, Post RS Errors, Pre RS Errors - HUB5 1gb service So i've been experiancing poor latency maximum latency on BQM is generally 60+ consistantly, overall very strange gaming performance. for some reason BQM hasn't logged anything since 21st? fully dropped for week+ but i've had internet, so unsure whats happened there anyway I've tried several chats over live chat, who have said nothing is wrong and to try the usual reboot/rest - Yes all done prior to going onto chat these are my hub5 network stats after around 1day uptime (rebooted over weekend) 3.0 Downstream channels Channel Frequency (Hz) Power (dBmV) SNR (dB) Modulation Channel ID 1 203000000 4.3 41 QAM 256 9 2 139000000 4.2 42 QAM 256 1 3 147000000 4.2 42 QAM 256 2 4 155000000 4 41 QAM 256 3 5 163000000 4.1 41 QAM 256 4 6 171000000 3.9 41 QAM 256 5 7 179000000 3.9 41 QAM 256 6 8 187000000 4.1 41 QAM 256 7 9 195000000 4.2 41 QAM 256 8 10 211000000 4.6 42 QAM 256 10 11 219000000 4.4 42 QAM 256 11 12 227000000 4.5 42 QAM 256 12 13 235000000 4.4 42 QAM 256 13 14 243000000 4.4 42 QAM 256 14 15 251000000 4.3 42 QAM 256 15 16 259000000 4 42 QAM 256 16 17 267000000 4 42 QAM 256 17 18 275000000 3.9 42 QAM 256 18 19 283000000 3.9 42 QAM 256 19 20 291000000 3.6 42 QAM 256 20 21 299000000 3.4 42 QAM 256 21 22 307000000 3.4 42 QAM 256 22 23 315000000 3.2 42 QAM 256 23 24 323000000 3.2 42 QAM 256 24 25 331000000 2.8 42 QAM 256 25 26 339000000 3.2 41 QAM 256 26 27 347000000 3.4 42 QAM 256 27 28 355000000 3.4 42 QAM 256 28 29 363000000 3.7 42 QAM 256 29 30 371000000 3.6 42 QAM 256 30 31 379000000 3.8 42 QAM 256 31 32 387000000 3.9 42 QAM 256 32 3.0 Downstream channels Channel Locked Status RxMER (dB) Pre RS Errors Post RS Errors 1 Locked 41 182 30 2 Locked 42 1293 227 3 Locked 42 196 9 4 Locked 41 111 0 5 Locked 41 449 53 6 Locked 41 214 0 7 Locked 41 113 0 8 Locked 41 137 28 9 Locked 41 210 27 10 Locked 42 103 28 11 Locked 42 155 2 12 Locked 42 31 0 13 Locked 42 17 0 14 Locked 42 2 0 15 Locked 42 5 0 16 Locked 42 6 0 17 Locked 42 19 0 18 Locked 42 7 0 19 Locked 42 0 0 20 Locked 42 0 0 21 Locked 42 1 0 22 Locked 42 0 0 23 Locked 42 0 0 24 Locked 42 1 0 25 Locked 42 0 0 26 Locked 41 0 0 27 Locked 42 1 0 28 Locked 42 0 0 29 Locked 42 0 0 30 Locked 42 0 0 31 Locked 42 0 0 32 Locked 42 0 0 3.1 Downstream channels Channel Channel Width (MHz) FFT Type Number of Active Subcarriers Modulation (Active Profile) First Active Subcarrier (Hz) 159 94 4K 1840 QAM 4096 1108 3.1 Downstream channels Channel ID Locked Status RxMER Data (dB) PLC Power (dBmV) Corrected errors (Active Profile) Uncorrectable errors (Active Profile) 159 Locked 43 4.9 1778161557 3309 3.0 Upstream channels Channel Frequency (Hz) Power (dBmV) Symbol Rate (ksps) Modulation Channel ID 0 60300000 37 5120 QAM 64 9 1 53700000 37.5 5120 QAM 64 10 2 46200000 37 5120 QAM 64 11 3 39400000 37 5120 QAM 64 12 4 32600000 37 5120 QAM 64 13 5 23600000 37.5 5120 QAM 64 14 3.0 Upstream channels Channel Channel Type T1 Timeouts T2 Timeouts T3 Timeouts T4 Timeouts 0 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 1 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 2 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 3 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 4 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 5 ATDMA 0 0 0 0 I've seen my HUB 5 have pre errors, but never seen so many Post errors.. these numbers are pretty low vs what i saw before a reboot some were in thousands. my PC is fully wired to the hub. if any expert on these stats take a look and give some guidance it would be appreicated, as I'm honestly at my wits end with VM broadband, yes it has speed but my word gaming performance feels absolutely awful until my area has true FTTP i'm stuck with HFC or completely kill my overall speeds with another ISP. Re: Another Hub 5 user with latency issues... Thanks for the reply.. unfortunately I rarely see any VM engineers around here, last time was when a learner driver smashed into one of the cabinets knocking out the Internet for 2weeks haha and to be fair to VM despite having to relay hundreds of Meter worth of cable as apparently it got shattered they fixed it pretty quickly. I wish I had done testing before this incident but I didn't maybe because I had no issues 😕 but honestly ever since this incident something has felt 'off' in certain games and it's only after tirelessly running tests, getting a 3rd party router to try still get awful loaded latency on upload and download I've had engineers and VM chat bots run tests they don't see issues the last engineer that came out just completely ignored what I was trying to say to him and just blamed all the tests for nonsense call outs. Re: Another Hub 5 user with latency issues... How did you go about getting this sorted? My upload and download latency is absolutely shocking with hub 5 on 1gb service.. I've had engineer out he cleaned cable, replaced power adapter, my coax cable isn't that long anyway from the wall less than 1ft? Changed/cleaned my connection at cabinet still the same. Only way to fix latency is artificially capping my speeds. Test show 940 download 20ms active 7ms jitter with max 160ms latency 105 upload 50ms active 10ms jitter 100ms max latency It's pretty awful in certain games. Re: Packet Loss Hi Alex, So it seems the issue had sorted itself out from Sunday onwards in terms of upload speed, but it seems things are taking a turn for the worse again and ever since the 'fix' something didn't feel right in online games, I stopped monitoring via thinkbroadband but restarted it again tonight as something clearly isn't right with online performance, especially gaming. This is using Wired connection only, i've tried several different cables. this is my current upload speed which has dropped abit since the 'fix' but even since my upload speed went back to normal my latancy has been horrendous. notice the Upload Latancy is absolutely dreadful, and i beleive this is causing issues online, i'm getting bufferload spikes of nearly 600ms at times. Re: Packet Loss so it continues.. yesterday I thought it had been fixed as my upload speed went back to normal and 0 packet loss all day but this afternoon, upload speed tanked to 20-30mbps again and consistant packet loss surely this is a VM issue? if it continues through the week I'll be calling up again.
