Thanks for the reply.. unfortunately I rarely see any VM engineers around here, last time was when a learner driver smashed into one of the cabinets knocking out the Internet for 2weeks haha and to be fair to VM despite having to relay hundreds of Meter worth of cable as apparently it got shattered they fixed it pretty quickly. I wish I had done testing before this incident but I didn't maybe because I had no issues 😕 but honestly ever since this incident something has felt 'off' in certain games and it's only after tirelessly running tests, getting a 3rd party router to try still get awful loaded latency on upload and download I've had engineers and VM chat bots run tests they don't see issues the last engineer that came out just completely ignored what I was trying to say to him and just blamed all the tests for nonsense call outs. Re: Another Hub 5 user with latency issues... How did you go about getting this sorted? My upload and download latency is absolutely shocking with hub 5 on 1gb service.. I've had engineer out he cleaned cable, replaced power adapter, my coax cable isn't that long anyway from the wall less than 1ft? Changed/cleaned my connection at cabinet still the same. Only way to fix latency is artificially capping my speeds. Test show 940 download 20ms active 7ms jitter with max 160ms latency 105 upload 50ms active 10ms jitter 100ms max latency It's pretty awful in certain games. Re: Packet Loss Hi Alex, So it seems the issue had sorted itself out from Sunday onwards in terms of upload speed, but it seems things are taking a turn for the worse again and ever since the 'fix' something didn't feel right in online games, I stopped monitoring via thinkbroadband but restarted it again tonight as something clearly isn't right with online performance, especially gaming. This is using Wired connection only, i've tried several different cables. this is my current upload speed which has dropped abit since the 'fix' but even since my upload speed went back to normal my latancy has been horrendous. notice the Upload Latancy is absolutely dreadful, and i beleive this is causing issues online, i'm getting bufferload spikes of nearly 600ms at times. Re: Packet Loss so it continues.. yesterday I thought it had been fixed as my upload speed went back to normal and 0 packet loss all day but this afternoon, upload speed tanked to 20-30mbps again and consistant packet loss surely this is a VM issue? if it continues through the week I'll be calling up again. Re: Packet Loss so this is this evening https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/1bb500d1b8ca86184455d339346deb5c2e8f560a this is an average test on packet loss I ran ping -t -w 200 194.168.4.100 and saw no Packet loss from 229 pings I ran ping -t -w 1000 WAN gateway IP ran that for 100 pings and saw 0 packet loss. so I have no idea what's going on. My upload speed according to Virgin site and several others is 25mbps samknows has it about 40.... i'm suppose to be on 100mbps average. Re: Packet Loss I've ran the top URL several times the past week or so and it's always losing then on received ill run more this afternoon when I'm back home. Re: Frustration is now setting in! low upload in the evenings. Seems to be fairly common at the moment with VM.. I've never had issues with my speeds, packet loss in 5+ years.. but suddenly I've had nothing but issues. I'm on the top package too and barely breaking 20mb upload and was getting consistently 100mbps+ Engineer has been out with no luck he said he thinks it's their side and will speak to networking team, seemed like it was fixed for 2 days then went back to being low and consistant packet loss. Re: Packet Loss Yeah it's definitely small amounts but noticeable and upload speed completely tanked vs normal operations https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/1bb500d1b8ca86184455d339346deb5c2e8f560a Soon as we get some sort of traffic happens more. Something clearly isn't right I've never had this constant packet loss with VM for awhile only ever had it once in 5 years and that was fixed pretty quick but this has been happening two weeks. I've only just recently restarted BQM after I'd experienced no packet loss for couple of days I've only just restarted it and even when idle I'm seeing packet loss. This image is what I was experiencing before. ignore the big red blotch that's a HUB 5 reset. I haven't saved any previous ones just deleted them so I'll repost my new one tomorrow once its had several hours running. While this is minimal packet loss I could tell.
