Unfortunately this issue is still not resolved As you can see still getting packet loss, when are they going to actually fix this? It's just unacceptable and if it's not sorted within the next 2 weeks I'll be cancelling my contract. I only went with VM as there were no other fast providers available at the time but I can now get full FTTP so you don't have me over a barrel any more 😄 I know it's not your fault so apologies for the tone, it's directed at the people at the top, hope you're having a great week! Cheers Alex Re: Outage on 07/01, higher packet loss since and now another outage Hi Ilyas, It looks like this is still ongoing, is there another date on the system for them to attempt to fix it again? Really not happy Cheers Re: Outage on 07/01, higher packet loss since and now another outage Hi Kath, Thanks for the update, unfortunately whatever they did/didn't do yesterday hasn't helped as I'm now having another full outage. Could you please let me know what's going to be done to resolve this and when it will be done by? I can see this in my account which I'm hoping is going to be a fix for this But then I also see this, which I know is not the case It's just typical VM mixed messages Cheers Outage on 07/01, higher packet loss since and now another outage Had an outage of about an hour on Sunday 07/01, once this was resolved there was much more packet loss than before the outage as well as ping spikes which are causing constant little niggling issues like buffering and having difficulties in Teams calls. 07/01: 08/01: 09/01: I'd like this to be investigated and resolved asap please. I had an issue with packet loss recently and an engineer came out, he told me he had no idea why he'd been sent out because he couldn't do anything on a network level which is where the packet loss is occurring. He swapped me over to a new hub just to try it but I'm not interested in sticking plaster resolutions, I want the problem fixed at source. Cheers Re: Waiting for pre installation work - can I check with council? Quick post for anybody who's interested regarding compensation; I've just had a chat with the person handling my case with the ombudsman and Virgin have offered £383.25 for a delay of 73 days - while this is nice, it's not the full £525 I'm owed for the actual 100 day delay, so they're going to go back to Virgin and make them pay the difference! Just wanted to post this in case anybody was in a similar situation and didn't think it was worth going through the process, the ombudsman makes it so easy and I've now got my internet paid for by Virgin for a full 14 months 😄 Re: Waiting for pre installation work - can I check with council? Thank you! Good to know, I'll just leave it for now and see what figure they come up with Re: Waiting for pre installation work - can I check with council? Well I never thought I'd see the day but it's finally installed! Getting 1.3Gbps, life is complete. In terms of compensation, how do I make sure it's all handed out? I had a complaint open but there was no record of it in my new account, I can't even login at the moment as I guess the system is updating to say that I'm now all set up and live. Re: Waiting for pre installation work - can I check with council? Even more progress! I now have a magic box of wonders and delights 😄 Re: Waiting for pre installation work - can I check with council? Actual physical visible tangible progress! A team (4 or 5 of them!) came out expecting to do this mystery 7 or 10 metre dig that people keep telling them is required, luckily I explained to them no digging needed as the ducts already exist and I showed them where they run, they then asked if I wanted a job haha. They said they weren't supposed to but they would do the work to expose the port which was great of them, sounded like they'll get to claim a few hours back as well so win win 🙂 Now I just wait for the 9th for my nice straightforward install 😄 I actually spoke to another couple of guys from Virgin yesterday because another neighbour was trying to get it installed and I had to explain to them where the ducts were, it's a bit mad that they don't know really. Re: Waiting for pre installation work - can I check with council? It's update time again! Had another crew out yesterday who had been sent to clear the "blockages" that previously required "wayleave", had a chat with them and they were a bit unsure as to why they were sent out as there are no blockages and even if they were it's a public footpath so wayleave wouldn't have been required anyway. They confirmed for the umpteenth time that I just need the cable pulling and then the installation, I've got two appointments for the 1st and 9th of this month respectively so fingers crossed we might be nearly there!
