On the face of it then it looks like I am expected to regularly Disconnect & Reconnect the entire system at least once per month as a form of 'Proper Maintenance' in order to keep VM running correctly for me. In which case I most certainly will comply. Thanks once again to you all, I can only apologise for not being Computer Savvy and thank you all for your very able help, advice etc. Re: Download Speeds crash every Saturday or weekend when any sport is on. Many thanks for your reply there Robert _P. I am sure we rebooted far less than 37 days ago. In fact as posted I have done it Twice in the last week alone. However I have just run the Speed check which gave reading of 907 Down & 95 Up. But I have never seen it reach 1,000 let alone go over that to the astronomical 1092. I have gone along with thinking that 950 or thereabouts will do but things of late are becoming all too frequent and it throws out all the switches & timer settings. Unfortunately I am not as Techy as most and all this stuff about BQM, Pings, Latency etc are way above me. I just simply want the service to improve without it keep dropping and requiring to be turned off & on again so often. Things like the pausing freezing whirly motive thing that comes up when trying to watch things like on Catch Up. Re: Download Speeds crash every Saturday or weekend when any sport is on. So Sorry jbrennand but all that is way way out of my comfort zone for me to even think of trying. Thanks anyway. Re: Download Speeds crash every Saturday or weekend when any sport is on. Many thanks for all your replies here folks. I have no idea about all this Docsis, FTP, Firesticks and suchlike as its all way over my head so it looks like I am doomed. In fact I have just in the last few minutes had to turn everything off yet again (which I had to do yesterday too) so that the entire system can reboot itself. At least for now I have a 'Connection' of sorts even though at the moment it is nowhere near the usual speed. I am using 'Wi-Fi 6' on a '1GB' service on a 'Ryzen 7' with 'Windows 11' but have never ever seen the speeds even reach 1,000. Everything my end (Drivers, Proggys, System etc) are up to date. Download Speeds crash every Saturday or weekend when any sport is on. Is anyone else suffering from their 'Download' speeds taking a serious Dive at weekends as the time approaches 14:00 hrs? although I am on the 1 Gig Service. I can only assume that its down to more & more people using it at the weekends of course and in particular as that is when the Football/Sports all start up. Plus of course more people are now using 'Internet Wi-Fi only' T.V's. However the service in my area is regularly switching off and on and requiring re-booting everything time and time again but we still get these problems. Trying to speak to someone to get some help is impossible and all you get from that 'Chatbox' rubbish is a text with links that if you follow them through; they just take you back to the very start once again. NO HELP AT ALL. I know and have checked that all is 100% with my setup at my end. But I am also aware that many other people in the neighbourhood are experiencing ALL the same problems as outlined. Even on the TV, trying to watch anything that requires the Wi-Fi and/or Streaming are forever freezing time and again. My Wife absolutely hates it and if she is not happy neither am I as it then causes me grief. Lucky for me - This 'One-Way' Contract hasn't got too long to go. But people should have a Contract that works BOTH ways. There are various other Broadband suppliers these days to choose from even ones that one can actually hold a telephone conversation with instead of someone hiding behind their anonymity on some Chat-Bot which in the main is quite useless. Surely VM are able to Boost signal power for such times knowing this happens? Sorry about bringing this up but as we must all know its almost impossible to actually TALK to a person at V.M. To be able to do that WOULD be a GREAT improvement. SolvedRe: Being asked to subscribe to uk tv play to watch Got to admit I made a complete mistake there as I got things mixed up between Episode & Series. Sorry for the errors. Re: Being asked to subscribe to uk tv play to watch Hi Mathew, thanks for this. As far as I can see there is no charges coming down the line at the moment. I am not a TV fan but its the Wife and she likes the Bill (I will sit and watch it sometimes with her). But she has just confirmed she has not had this 'Subscribe' nonsense came up ever before. However I have noticed that all the the Series above 26 that WERE SHOWN have now disappeared. There was a lot more series listed, but they have now suddenly been taken down. I am guessing here, but my suspicions are that once they notice that any Series becomes popular; they might be removing some of them in order to offer them only on a 'Pay to view' model basis option. Re: Being asked to subscribe to uk tv play to watch Hi "Molly_T" Sorry for the very late reply on this. We are still able to watch the series as the pop-up only blocked the info about signing in. We ticked 'sign in' anyway. But was worried about having to pay for it, (which we wouldn't if that was the case). As far as I can make out by looking at 'My Latest Bill' we have not had any extra charges apart from the VM price Hike. It would be reassuring though to know that this IS the case for sure. Re: Being asked to subscribe to uk tv play to watch I need to edit my message above slightly. In the 1st Paragraph, Line 4. ... enscribed should read "ded in your package". I hope this helps in some way. Re: Being asked to subscribe to uk tv play to watch Hello folks, This has just started happening to us. Namely trying to watch the Series of "The Bill" on 'Catch Up' which takes us to 'UKTV Play'. Recently the same message pops up about 'Subscribe' then 2 lines about UK TV HD/Other which now states 'Subscribed' Trouble is this pop up is over some more information underneath it of which ends in "...nscribed". I am unable to read everything before that as the aforementioned pop up comes up right over it except that last bit 'nscribed'. I have just tried to have a conversation with a young lady on the Help line and 'IF' I understood what she was saying correctly (Accent didn't help) she was unable to tell me. In one statement it seemed she said I would be charged and yet in another she stated I will not be charged. By then I was a confused as she seemed to be. So can anyone please help me? Does that mean we ARE or NOT subscribed.? and more importantly are we now being Charged for it. We are on the 'Maxit' package.
