The engineer visited on 09/MAY and said that the fault is actually an area fault and they do not have an estimate of when it would likely be fixed. I was offered the option to continue to wait until the fault was identified and fixed, or I could be moved across to a digital phone line that would involve connecting my phone to the VM hub. I didn't particularly like the idea of a phone line that would go down when the internet goes down, but given that the fix could take days or weeks, and the engineer said that everyone was being moved across to the digital service within the next year, I just went for the switch over. The landline phone was up and running by around 2pm on the day of the engineer visit. Has been working fine so far - fingers crossed! I will look out for the compensation payment for the days that the phone line was down. Landline phone not working I reported an issue on with my home landline phone not working. I discovered it wasn't working on the evening of 28/APR and reported it on 01/MAY by calling 0345 454 1111. I have the old copper cable dedicated wall connection socket and tried another working DECT cordless phone and handset with the same result - no dialtone. I can call the landline phone from my mobile phone and it rings, but it is not possible to answer the call. An engineer was supposed to visit on 03/MAY but I received a message on 02/MAY saying that the issue is a network issue and work was underway to fix it. Later that same day, I received a text message stating the issue was now resolved. Only, it wasn't. I called the 0345 number on 03/MAY and reported the issue again. This time I was told it was being passed to another team who would investigate. If they need further information from me, they would be in touch, but the phone should be working again in 3 working days. If Monday this week was regarded as a working day, then today is the 3 day mark and my phone is still not working and I have received absolutely no follow-up. Can someone please investigate this? That's now over a week I've been without a phone service that I have paid for. Thanks, Brian Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 It's now day 6 and while I appear to continue to receive and be able to access my email via the web, there is still no sign of my old emails. I'm receiving every piece of spam/phishing email that would have previously have gone into the SPAM folder, and there is no active email forwarding that I had previously set up. I daren't spend time deleting any new emails just in case it messes with any restoration process. I think that some timeframe should be given for the restoration of older emails to accounts and how many exactly are we talking about? Am I effectively in a queue to be processed? Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 I have finally managed to get into my email (it's an old ntlworld.com email address) and the only emails that are there go as far back as yesterday. None of my structured folders are present and nothing prior to yesterday. Emails that I know were sent yesterday have a time stamp on them with today's date and time. I really hope that everything gets restored as I rely upon searching for old emails that I've tagged as important. I also have had auto-forwarding of all emails turned on and none of the new emails that have shown up today have been forwarded to my gmail account.
