It ahows more accounts than he saw and sone are differentCan you give me the server settings for Virgin.net and virginmedia.com emails please. Perhaps you can help. I have some virgin.net ones that show disabled and others show: The entered credential or authentication information does not work or are no longer accepted by provider. Please change them. I have been with VM for 25 years on the same account number and same address. Re: Email accounts orphaned, deleted and disabled, Last chance or I am off. I guessed the reply: "if you have had new accounts created for you with a different account number" Try reading posts. Rephrased yet again: I have had the same account number for 25 years at the same home address without a break. The Virgin email address I used for this forum account stopped working after posting this so I didn't see the email that my post was replied to.. It has taken 3 months to get back this email address and see your reply. I had 8 email addresses with Virgin that stopped working, I asked for the server details to check and don't get a reply, even on the phone callI just had. VM can only see 4 email addresses and not all are the same as the 6 accounts I can see in settings. NOT fit for purpose and I am not surprised they are discontinuing it. They will probably save a lot of money by laying off no longer needed support staff. Warning to anyone using Virgin email for anything except a throw away spam one. The best thing you can do is redirect it to a reliable one.. . Re: Land line not working The nightmare of voip phones. Give me a copper line for a landline any day. Fibre optic for the broadband though :). Porting a landline I am leaving virgin and would like to port my landline to a new provider just for incoming calls as that is what it is usually used for. The number is still active. I have been told that as it has been over a month the new provider will not port it. Can I have the old VM landline number ported to a Virgin/O2 mobile? If not I need a code to use it on a porting service. Re: Virgin.net email locked Proof it is all cut and paste replies, you didn't even read my post through by your reply. Bye Virgin you should have fixed my email years ago Email accounts orphaned, deleted and disabled, Last chance or I am off. I have had a virgin broadband account for 25 years + in fact since it was Blueyonder with no breaks in the contract. <<< Lets see if I get asked this again in the reply as I usually do because they don't read the posts fully. I have been through support many times with the lie of resolved given or it just being dropped. In the past decade or so I have had email accounts orphaned, deleted and disabled, one was recovered years ago but was deleted again soon after. I have two main accounts I would like to access to as they were used for signing up to accounts linked to finance and I have lost money as I do not have access anymore to the email address on these accounts. The last insult was seeing the email address of the forced upgrade contract sent to was a Virgin.net address VM deleted years ago. I had no idea they had upgraded me. Then a few months later put the price up again. I have been in I.T for over 30 years and I run my own mail server now and could resolve this kind of problem in seconds, so why has it been such a problem for VM over the years? Email accounts don't vanish or get disabled on their own. As the title says lace chance or I'm gone from VM. Re: Virgin.net email locked I have been battling for well over 10 years to get VM email accounts reinstated. I have lost money on not being able to access other sites that I used the email for a login and the only way of logging in is using the email address because it sends a 2FA code which now goes to a dead VM email address. I only needed it reinstated to change it to something else. This with Virgin's semi stealth forced upgrades in speed then increasing the monthly bill later which now is £79 for the 1Gb package I have to leave after 23 years. It was Blueyonder when I fist had it, Strange how they keep the primary Blueyonder email address working all this time but the virgin.net and virginmedia, con just get deleted or disabled. I now can get another provider 900Mbs both up and down on a £29 offer for 2 years (VM 1GB down 50Mb up) The latest joke from them when forced upgrading me from 500Mbs to 1Gb was sending a contract to the virgin.net account.THEY deleted. Bye Virgin you should have sorted my email out. BTW I have gone through the support thing many times over the years with no resolution. And putting RESOLVED on my posts which seem to have now been deleted is a lie. Re: Constant "no number calls" since moving to IP Telephone from landline (Home) (Resolved) After the switch over I was still on a Hub3 and we had a problem with getting calls. The phone would ring and cut off when answered or just ring once and drop the call. After a bit of a tassle with VM they sent out a Hub 5 a few weels ago without telling me. I installed it and was quiet pleased my upload speed which wouldn't go above 30Mbs started working at near 100Mbs like it was supposed to do and is what I am paying for. We then started getting ghost calls. I had been about to ask them to go back to copper wire connection when the hub arrived so thought I would give it a try.. In the upgreade pack it did say they can keep you on wire if you have special medical needs or an alarm that auto dials a security company or the police in the case of a break in. Hubs unlike the copper wire phone system do not work in a power cut if you don't have a seperate battery back up for the hub. With a family member in hospital I kept ringing the hospital in case they had phoned me as they have a private number as do the police who I have had recent contact with, and I was not sure if the hub was reporting these numbers as no number to my BT phone.. The latest on the copper wire situation from BT who I beleive VM lease lines from seems to be it will end in 2025 when the copper wire system will be discontinued and finally switched off. I think I will ask to go back to wire for the phones until that happens but it might not be possible for some because BT Openreach have already switched off over 600 exchanges (01.01.2023) where voice copper lines are no longer available.
