Edit: Nevermind, it has an option in the Settings of Connect app. Read the news post on VM corporate website, wasted topic. 10/10 should've searched before I posted Re: Virgin Media's answer to CityFibre? Excluding reports about 100Mb upload, I doubt there there will be any "major" changes until the XGS rollout as that would make most sense, at least in my eyes. Fire TV Cube lets you control your compatible cable and satellite set top box with your voice and Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote. Check compatibility That's the one I linked above, I scrolled down a bit, that's my mistake. I actually never noticed the compatibility view at the top. Re: Fire TV cube (2022 3rd gen version) unisoft wrote: Interesting as Amazon market it as supported, so looks like they do but VM don't want to 🙂 Their web page quote for compatible devices list: "Connect a compatible Cable or Satellite box to the HDMI input on Fire TV Cube to control live TV with Alexa or the included Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote. Selected Cable/Satellite boxes support this functionality, including: Sky, Virgin Media TV, BT, TalkTalk TV." I must have found a different listing as when I originally searched it didn't mention it in the compatibility, only Sky, reviews seem to suggest it work but they don't explain to the extent other than it switches to VM. The Amazon listing for both the 1st and current 3rd gen doesn't mention Virginmedia (https://www.amazon.co.uk/l/17752591031) which I got from https://www.amazon.co.uk/fire-tv-cube/dp/B09BZVGR73/ Re: Fire TV cube (2022 3rd gen version) It's not officially supported no, you can use workarounds such as 3rd party apps but then it becomes a huge pain in the setup for it. Re: Cancel and my partner join as new customer vmforumlogin wrote: Hello everybody interesting thread I thought I would give my experience of today. I'm out of contract paying £71 for m100 broadband, talk anytime and mix TV. I rang option for on the 150 number and spoke to salesperson who said I could not have broadband and phone only at £26 per month as advertised to new customers. Salesperson said Virgin media could only do that for £44 per month. I got put through to the retentions team with the intention of cancelling contract and giving 30 days notice. The Virgin media rep offered broadband only at £27 per month. We settled on m200 broadband, talk weekends and basic TV as advertised picture below for £33 per month on an 18-month contract. Perfectly happy with that and it seems that Virgin are changing their policy somewhat in these bleek times. 99% of discounts are random with 1% being made available due to demand or it being a common request.
