I have the brown VM box outside the house and two cables running from it into separate rooms in my house as VM services were used in the past. One room has a VM connection box which presumably was used for the VM hub. The other room has a loose coaxial cable which I believe went into tv box. In looking at pictures of cables in the self start installation guidance it doesn't look like my coaxial cable is the same. And that makes me doubt that the supplied cable will fit into my "router" connection box. Will the self start equipment provide me with means to connect my coaxial cables to the supplied ones and thence to VM Hub and V360 tv box? Or should I myself buy connectors and if so what do I need? Is another option to use the existing coaxial cable in the tv room to service both the Hub and TV box in same room? This would involve splitting which has presumably already happened once when entering the property and perhaps doing it a second time would have an adverse effect on signals? The existing configuration with hub and tv box in different rooms previously worked well in my house assisted by Powerlink adapters and I'd be content to set things up the same. My final question is in the circumstances should I ask VM to carry out the installation? Re: My entire street is connected, but for some reason, my house has been missed. The same happened to me except it was City Fibre. It turned out for whatever reason my broadband was routed through the telephone cable from a telegraph pole across the road. This has its limitations and I ended up with Sky Superfast 35 with a steady 18Mbps internet speed - enough for me though! Re: Pre Contract Acceptance I eventually found for what I was looking. It was under Service Status, then My Orders. It shows an order reference number and order date, even though I have not to my recollection ever accepted the pre contract. But that's not a problem to me as I'm just glad to obtain confirmation of equipment delivery and contract start date. Pre Contract Acceptance I received my pre contract documents on 5 December 2024 which state my contract will commence on1st February 2025. I was advised in a VM telephone call that my equipment would be delivered to me on 28 January 2025. it occurred to me that I had not accepted the pre contract and I understood that I could do this using my VM account. When logging into it brief details appear for about a one second then disappear! There seems to be no means for me give my acceptance to the contract offered by VM. Help please? Re: What Hub Will I Get? The cable to the room where the Hub will be located runs around the exterior of the house and through the wall to the room with a hub network wall box. The other cable runs around the exterior on the other side of the house and through the wall into the room where the tv box will be located. I don't want the inconvenience and eyesore of running wired connection between the two boxes. Re: What Hub Will I Get? Thanks Unisoft. Re: What Hub Will I Get? Yes there is the brown box on my external wall and two cables from it. One goes into the room where there is a VM junction type box (assume this is where I'll connect the Hub) and the other cable runs to the living room which is probably some 50/60 feet away and where the V360 box will be located. I'm hoping the wifi signal between the two boxes will be satisfactory as I don't want to have the inconvenience of running ethernet cables through 2 rooms and a hall. Re: What Hub Will I Get? Thanks jpeg. The date for joining was suggested and agreed by VM. My existing broadband finishes on 31 January 2025. If I extend it then that will cost me another month's broadband charge. I'm beginning to think I might have made a mistake in joining VM? What Hub Will I Get? I'm due to join VM on 28 January 2025 as that's the date the equipment is scheduled be delivered to me. The pre contract details state I am having M500 Broadband but doesn't specify which hub I will be given. I understand there are 3 options: Hub3, Hub4 and Hub5. As a new customer I was wondering which one I'll be getting and assumed it will be Hub3. Is that likely to be the case? I'm also getting the V360 tv box.
