I no longer have an account with my previous ISP (I've been with Telewest, then Blueyonder and then VM for many many years) but still used my old ISPs free email service. I can't contact them as I'm not an account customer so my only option is to change the email address I use to log in to my VM account. I can't do that though because VM send codes and links to my inaccessible email account. Thanks, John Lost access to sign in email account Good evening, After being made to change the email address I use to sign into my VM account to a non-VM one I chose an old email account that I'd had for years and infrequently used. Unfortunately due to a corrupt hard drive I've now lost my Thunderbird password manager and I can't for the life of me remember a password that I set up over twenty five years ago! Now, every time I want to change anything on my account i.e. change the email address I use to sign in or sign in to Sky Sports on any device other than my Tivo box, it sends a code or link to my inaccessible email account. Please help. Thanks - JMP Re: No option to create email app password Thanks both, I would have replied earlier but the notifications of your replies were going into my spam! However, I got a phone call from my daughter yesterday to say that she had logged into the account again and the option to generate an app password had magically appeared! Not sure whether it just took a while for the servers to update the account section after changing the login address or what but it is working now. One other thing though. Today I received an email to one of the non-VM addresses that I use to log in to my account saying that from 30-06-2025 we have to 'go back' to logging in using our VM email addresses! Is this true and what on earth is all that about!! Thanks again to both of you for your attention and support. JMP Re: No option to create email app password Hi Coenoby, Yes, I have changed the account to have a non VM account as the username. I know what you mean and I too have another account that hasn't been changed yet but my other daughter isn't having any issues so it's a case of 'if it ain't broke. . ' JMP No option to create email app password My daughter wants to access her Blueyonder emails on her iPad. Her email was originally set up as a secondary account to mine but I know that the way you have to access email has changed (not, in many peoples opinions for the better!) so I dutifully logged into my account as her and changed her username to be a different email address to her Blueyonder one. OK, I thought, that's phase 1 completed. Then I went to generate an email app password after logging in using the new credentials but there is no option to do that! I've done it successfully for my wife's and my own email accounts so I know where to look and what it should look like, it just isn't there when I log in as my daughter. Any advice please? Cheers, JMP SolvedHundreds of Spam emails My wife has just started receiving literally hundreds of spam emails. 02-03-2025 at 13:00. They are arriving faster than she can delete them. Is this happening to anybody else? What can she do? There is no set pattern that we can see to put a rule in place. HELP! Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 Same here. I can access webmail on my phone but not through Thunderbird on the PC via smtp.
