Annoyingly even though I can then access the admin settings to flip back to modem mode, it never seems to process that request which then forces my hand to factory reset the SH5 and then flip to Modem Mode afterwards. If its a software update that has done this then it should factor in what state the SH device was in prior to updating and keep that state.
