ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsVolt, landline and 3G I have a Volt package with landline. 02 is turning off 3G this year. I have no 4G or 5G service and independant coverage checker https://app.streetwave.co/coverage-checker/60/map shows O2 coverage in my area is poor - I have only 1 bar in the living room at the front of my house and none at the back. This is despite living on the northern edge of Telford. I image soon VM will change my landleine over to the router, it is currently seperately wired and it regularly dies for days at a time, but there testing software never seems to see or report a problem in my area. I currently use O2 at home as backup for my land line. In future I will need a mobile to backup my landline in the evnt of power failure. Anyone know what VMO2 plans are to improve services ?? Re: Landline Dead OK - tried again. Ensured I was logged in and ran test. Same results as above. Only fault identifed by tool is TV - but I dont have a TV issue. Ran through TV tests. Eventually it desides I need an engineer to fix my TV - NOT by landline. Hover yes there is an option to book an engineer - but given it is offered for a TV fault is it the CORRECT engineer? I have had this same fault sveral times in the past. It has ALWAYS been a fault in the roadside box. Re: Landline Dead Yes I signed in Landline Dead Using the 'Check SXTatus' reurns Broadband - no problem TV - Cannot connect to your TV Kit Landline - No problem However after rebooting TV box and router Internet access is OK on Home PC and Mob phones using WIFI to own router. TV system including On Demand, both through VM TV Box and through TV's own ethernet is OK Landline is dead - no tones at all. I replacde the Internal system with a simple handset connect direct to wall socket (we do not have the new Phone over IP service) - still no dial tone. Cannot phone in as the O2 service at my house is at best 1 bar and usually no bars- and today has no bars. Problem started lat Saturday afternoon during the storm when we had a power surge and lost power for about 30secs. Re: Landline Down - Again CARLY - Any eta on fix? CLIENT62 - thanks for trying Re: Landline Down - Again Bit difficult when you dont have a phone - landline out and as per original post - very poor O2 service Re: Landline Down - Again Noe of the options are relevant Re: Landline Down - Again So why does your service checker say ' there are no known problems in yor area' Re: Landline Down - Again As I indicated - i did all that - but to be specific I disconnected all internal phones and connected only one know good wired handset into the master - no dial tone. Landline Down - Again My landline in Telford (NOT VOIP) has been completely off since abt 18:00 Sun 18 Feb 2024 - abt 20hrs so far. How come Service Status still says there is nothing wrong - rubbish. AND yes I have tried all the usual plugging and unplugging and trying different phones in the master socket - it didn't help. ( Sorry - its just so frustrating my 92 year old father has been taken into hospital and there is currently no way they can contact me!) I would love to report it using my mobile phone but O2 signal is betweem 0 and 1 bar most of the time - useless.
