In the past, I had two areas that could only manage about 10Mbps, if that. As a result, I had to use the electric HomePlugs, but as the old house has been re-wired so many times, this wasn't great. So, I requested (as a 1Gig customer) wifi pods. To be honest, it took a lot of arguing, six months of back-and-forth emails. It took much longer than it should have. The main problem was the app VM Connect was unable to connect to the router, to get a signal strength rating. Finally, a letter to the Ombudsman, and suddenly a WiFiPod arrived and it immediately sorted out the first problem. I asked for a second one, and to my great surprise it arrived days later and it sorted out the second problem. I wanted to report just how wonderful these WiFiPods are. I now have two, as a 1GIG customer I can get up to three. But, for me, two sorted out my problems. The speed difference is amazing. From 10 to 210 in one room and from zero to 283 in my living room. Placement of black wifi pods Is there a correct way to place the black wifi pod? For example with the power button facing the wall and the other side, with the grey cloth covering, pointing into the room. Or should it sit like the SH5 with the thin side with the virgin logo label pointing in the room? Or does none of this matter at all 😇 Trying to order additional wifi pod It took me five months to finally get my first wifi pod. Countless emails, telephone calls, formal letter of complaint and then suddenly out of the a wifi pod arrived. No explanation, no apology. In fairness it fixed the problem I was having it that room. But I needed another one for a different room. I used the vm connect app but contrary to what it says on the website, I couldn't order one after getting a poor test result. Another help page offering to help is 404. It is like getting blood out of a stone. I am getting the runaround again, with orders promised but not delivered. I am more than happy to give all details by pm. I am the account holder, on 1GIG. Wifi max, with one wifi pod, but I need another and do not want to engage in 100s of telephone calls over five months to get this sorted. SolvedUnable to get my first WiFi Pod I have been having serious problems, just trying to order a wifi pod. Initial contact 14.2.2024, asked to do tests, Real Speed said it could not connect to the router. 18.2.2024, tests tried again, still not connection to router . Wifi pod ordered 26.2.2024, didn't get a confirmation email, told I would get one within 12 hours 27.2.2024, no confirmation email, told wifi pod would arrive within 3 days 5.3.2024, no confirmation email, told wifi pod would arrive within 3 days 8.3.2024, no confirmation email, told there was a problem with my account, all fixed now, a confirmation email will arrive soon and wifi pod would arrive within 3 days. 12.3.2024,no confirmation email, went through the test procedures again, eventually got real speed to work, 1111 at router 12 at mobile. Then told the order could not be raised as I had s disability and I needed to have an emergency backup phone installed. That the order could not be in place until this was done, an engineer would have to be sent out. I informed staff that I had an emergency backup phone installed. She insisted I hadn't, I offered to send her a photo of it. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and this was refused. Then I was told that the order was now in place and that I would get a confirmation email shortly and the wifi pod would arrive within 72 hours to 14 days. (This is a new one, it has always been within 3 days before this!) It reads like a script from a bad comedy show. Re: How do I order the Wi-Fi pods?
