He would do it himself if he could but, as mentioned, he can't get access to this site because the verification email never arrives. I am happy to answer any security questions. Re: TIVO Replacement I have spoken to my son-in-aw and he says the contacts were by telephone, not live chat. He is still unable to complete registration with this community to question the matter first hand as whenever he tries the verification email never arrives. Re: TIVO Replacement I passed on all the information to my son-in-law but after a couple of attempts to contact VM, each time being told he could not swap his tivo for a V6 only for a 360 he tried to register on here to question the matter further. However each time he tries to register with the community the promised email verification email doesn't arrive (he has checked spam folder) TIVO Replacement Hi, I have a similar query I am asking on behalf of my daughter & son-in-law who are also VM customers (I have suggested to my son-in law that he registers on here in case you need to exchange any private messages with them). They currently have one V6 box and one TIVO and would like to replace the TIVO with a 2nd V6 (not a 360). The question is is this still possible? as when they phoned (overseas call centre) they were told they could only swap for a 360 and could not have a V6. He kept trying to push the 360 upgrade which they declined and told him to leave things as they are for now. SolvedRe: Sky Sports+ Thanks for the clarification. Re: Sky Sports+ Cedd - thanks for your reply and I appreciate your comments on your experience of the 360 box so far. I note what you say about loss of recordings and I realise this is not going to change but it still does remain a major frustration / annoyance for me. I had this forlorn hope that recordings would be like they were in the old days - there to keep and view whenever I wanted to - and not liable to disappear en bloc whenever there was a software upgrade, channel change etc. Having to binge watch everything recorded before losing them whenever VM arbitrarily decides to make changes is far from ideal, to put it mildly! I support a League 2 EFL football team and have been fortunate to see them play some big cup and Promotion play-off matches in recent seasons. Sadly the recordings of those matches have gradually disappeared (and will lose the rest of them if I "upgrade" to a 360 box) and many of them are not available to watch on catch-up, youtube etc. The crazy thing is I have match recordings (from the tv) on dvd for matches played in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s which I can keep long term but that is no longer possible for more recent games. That is progress?? As long as recordings are for personal viewing only I fail to see why recordings can't be taken from programmes I have subscribed to and paid to watch! Like I said earlier I know this won't change but that still doesn't make it any easier to accept. I had a first experience of Sky Sports + (live stream) for a match last night and it was pretty much as newappollo intimated in a previous post. No stream available on tv without upgrading to 360. Unable to access the live stream on my Windows PC or laptop. I could, however, view on my android devices using the sky sports app via my VM login. Regarding upgrading from V6 to 360 on reading through various threads here and elsewhere what does come across is that it is difficult to get definitive answers from VM with a different answer to the same question depending on who you speak to. Questions I have seen different answers to include:- 1) I have 2 V6 boxes and if I understand it correctly on "upgrading" to 360 one will become the main box and the other a mini box and that mini boxes do not have separate storage capacity. Does this mean on conversion my current 2TB storage (1TB on each box) will be cut in half? 2) The email I received referred to it as a free upgrade but on the VM website the 360 information refers to one box being free but any additional mini boxes would be charged for. I currently have 2 V6 boxes as part of my contracted package. So on upgrade would I be facing new charges for the 2nd box? 3) I have also seen comments that this free upgrade would constitute a new contract, meaning I would be tied in to a further 18 months contract from the date of the "upgrade". Is that correct? Furthermore if it is classed as a new contract will that give VM the opportunity to slip in additional charges, make other changes to package, remove channels (I am aware that some customers have already had TNT Sports arbitrarily removed mid-term despite it being part of the contracted package)? 4) One of the advertised new features of 360 is Startover where you can watch a programme from the beginning if you switch on after it has already started. Does this apply to all channels and programmes or just a select few? Sorry to have rambled on at length but before clicking on the "free upgrade" button to be able to access Sky Sports + streams I need to know what I would actually be signing up for and there is precious little information about terms and conditions in the invite email and contradictory responses from VM when others have posed some of the questions. Re: Sky Sports+ Slight error in my previous post. What I meant was I previously was able to watch live sky sports programmes on my Windows PC or laptop using the sky sports app and my Virgin login. My question is will this still be possible for Sky Sports + live matches? I would rather do that than upgrade my V6 boxes to 360s. Re: Sky Sports+ Like may others I have a VM package including Sky Sports and V6 boxes but don't wish to "upgrade" to 360 due to the many reported issues, loss of all recordings etc. Will Sky Sports + be available to VM customers who have Sky Sports in their package via their laptops, tablets, mobiles etc? I previously always watched EFL matches through I-Follow on my windows laptop using the sky sports app and hope this will continue for Sky Sports + streams. Is that the case? Re: Contract Renewal Hi, Yes I clicked on the consent as I understood the offer to be based on the package remaining unchanged apart from the price. The offer was phrased as follows :- " Your Offer. So, you currently pay £147.96 (that's the figure after the previous contract end - I had been paying less than that ) and we can bring that down to £117.96 which is £30 a month less. Sound good? Your contract will be renewed for another 18 months." That was followed by the options "yes I'll take it", " Not quite right" and "I don't want to take this offer". That is the full text of the offer. There was nothing at all to suggest any of the terms or items included were changing from those in my previous contract. I think any reasonable person viewing that offer would believe they were getting everything given under the previous contract and it was just being extended for 18 months on the same terms but at a new price level. After I agreed to go ahead they then sent the contract documents which, in my view, showed that the offer had been misleading. For the first time the Netflix Standard was shown as an add on and the £117.96 was shown as £107.96 plus £10 add on. At no previous point in the correspondence or in the offer had there been any indication whatsoever that the terms were being changed and that Netflix was no longer an inclusive element of the package and charged at an extra £10. I qualify for Volt benefits so do not understand why they have changed that, so surely the contract price should be £107.96 including Netflix, as before. Re: Contract Renewal Hi, Thanks for your reply. The issue is with the lack of information given out at the ordering stage. For me this was the sequence of events:- 1) Initially I had the contract coming to an end email which set out in 2 columns what I had under the contract and what I would have after the contract ended. This was fully detailed and both columns were identical with the sole exception of the monthly price. It included confirmation that I have 2 V6 boxes, Maxit TV and Netflix Standard as an inclusive part of the package. 2) In view of the large price increase I telephoned retentions to see what possibilities were available. After a series of automated menus I came to one saying I could receive details of current offers if I accepted a text. I agreed to accept the text. 3) The text provided a link and tap to get started, which I did. 4) The link took me to a page which said "Ready to Renew? Sign in and renew your contract today so that you can keep enjoying our services without interruption". That's all that was in the message - no mention anywhere that it would entail changes to the package - just renew the existing one. If they meant something different then clearly the message was confusing. After signing in it took me to a page headed "Lets take a look. were going to check your package and find you a better deal". It then listed the current package showing everything I have, including the Volt broadband boost, Maxit TV (which includes TNT Sports), Netflix Standard etc - all within the basic package price. After that it said "Your Offer" and detailed that they could bring the price down by £30 and "Your contract will be renewed for another 18 months" Again no mention whatsoever that this would entail changes to the package, removal of items or included items now being charged as add ons. I therefore clicked to accept, believing I was continuing the same package for a further 18 months. 5) It was only after the contract documents came through that previously unexplained changes had been made and Netflix was being charged as an add on. There was also no mention in these contract documents of the boxes - whereas in the previous contract it specified that the package included 2 V6 boxes. I am therefore wondering what other changes they might have failed to mention and why the new contract document is in much less detail than previous ones (ie no mention of the boxes etc). Surely if a customer is committing to an 18 month contract the contract document should show in full what services are being offered as part of the deal and not be so vague in many respects?
