I understand that there is 1 kilobyte of space on the box for recording? Is this more or less than the V6 box; I can't remember now? Also I have always preferred to set up my preferred channels as the '+' versions rather than the HD versions simply because these take up far less space for recordings than HD, which really hogs space. I have had to scroll all the whole length of the list of available channels to find these though! Also I do miss just using the 'backspace' key to go back; rather than having to find the other 'goback' key every single time! Everything seems so long-winded on this remote compared with the one for the V6 box. I really liked that one. My neighbour wouldn't swap his V6 box for a 360 if you paid him! You can't just assume that the latest version of something is always the best, because it simply isn't! 😣 Oh by the way, for some reason, I was sent another 360 remote through the post. It looks to be exactly the same as the 360 remote the engineer left with me. Can I assume that if anything were to happen to my existing remote, the 'new' one would just simply continue to work with the box, like the old one? Thank you for your patience. Re: Virgin 360 box - channels and recordings Thank you for your reply Nodrogd. I have only just been informed of it! I was wondering why no one had answered. I have managed to suss out most of the box's features now, but as I said before, it is nowhere near as easy to use as the V6! How do I know how much space I have used for my recordings? There doesn't seem to be any indication of this at all! When I am going through my preferred channels looking to record stuff, There is no indication that a series has already been set up. I can't often remember just what I have recorded. I find I am having to go backwards and forwards checking on recordings, whereas before they were all in one place and were informative about series numbers; one series would automatically lead on to the next, etc. No indication of that with the 360 box at all! I find that whole series numbers are missed out. The V60 would have ALL series of a drama available; either for streaming or recording. This one will only let you see what they have available! Often missing some of the series numbers as I said. Honestly, I feel cheated! Virgin 360 box - channels and recordings I have just had a 360 box installed and spent almost the entire day playing with it. Please, is there any way of putting all your favourite channels together, instead of having to scroll the whole way through ALL of them (some of which I'm not entitled to watch anyway! ) I have yet to see if I have managed to properly record anything. Also, I'd like to know how can it record if there is no hard drive? I was not aware of this until I read of it on here! Frankly I wish I had asked for a new V6 box. At least that was much easier to use! The 360 doesn't even show ALL of the channels; BBC for instance. You have to put the numbers in! The only reason I wanted a replacement was because of the many problems I had started having with my V6 Box. I find that recording on the new box is very complicated! I'm having to go back to where I started in order to get it right! I used to be able to bookmark whole series on my V6 box, then watch them at MY convenience. Whereas with the new one I can't do this. I have to binge watch a series or make sure I can remember which one I got to! Please advise if you can - anyone? I really don't want to experience the horrors of Virgin's so-called 'Customer Services' again! 😣 [Mod - title edited for clarity] Re: Logging In To Virgin Mail - What a Faff! Thanks Gareth. Using the sound version helps a lot. I only have to listen once; twice at the most! I can't see the point of having to do this every time I access my e-mail account though. I don't with Google! Re: Logging In To Virgin Mail - What a Faff! That's so much easier! The voices are rather indistinct (to make it a bit harder I guess) They seem to be taken from spoken sentences and cut off in the middle of the next word spoken in most cases. But as long as you've got the main word or phrase you're OK. And it's only one lot each time. So thanks again Graham! 😊 Re: Logging In To Virgin Mail - What a Faff! Thanks Graham. This would be a lot easier than squinting at very out-of-focus pictures often with tired eyes at the end of the day! Why the pics have to be so awful and not clear I do not know! I'll give it a go. 😊 Re: Logging In To Virgin Mail - What a Faff! Audio version? I didn't kow there was an audio version. I fail to see how this could work! If I make any mistakes, it's probably because some of the pictures seem to be impossible to see because they are such terrible ones! Some are all deliberately blurry and others where you have to tick all the boxes that contain say, a motorbike: does that include the mirrors on the motorbike and things like bags that are overflowing onto another square? Or for that matter, the rider on the bike? They do seem deliberately designed to make it hard to see or interpret! I've been using Virgin e-mail for years; as a back-up now I admit, as I don't trust it as my main e-mail provider now. It's not reliable enough. Re: Logging In To Virgin Mail - What a Faff! Graham, my browser has and always has been, set to delete all cookies and everything else when it is closed down. This is for my own security. Bearing in mind that this always been the case, why have all these extra 'ReCaptcha; pictures started happening now? Re: Logging In To Virgin Mail - What a Faff! Just an after-thought: If these so-called 'Security' things are being upped to safeguard customers' accounts, it's not working very well is it? I still get oodles of SPAM every day! 🙄 Re: Logging In To Virgin Mail - What a Faff! Well, it's getting beyond a joke now. Every single time I try and log in to my e-mail account, I have to jump through these hoops! I don't mind a two or three of these things, like it used to be, but even today, I had no less than 8 lots of the blasted things! I was in a hurry to get to a code I had been sent and needed to use as well! 😡
