Home phone answering machine stopped working
I am not getting any messages left on my landline as the answerphone no longer works after 18 rings as it has been. I have checked the handset and all is okay. Have Virgin Media changed a setting? It’s extremely important to have this working as my wife is disabled and cannot always get to the phone in time. I have rung customer service without success and would be grateful for help to resolve this problem. Thank you.22Views0likes3CommentsPorting BT virgin media?

Hi, I am having problems with the landline phone. There is no ring tone, but I seem to be able to call out. However, I cannot receive calls at all. I have run the VM service checker, which says the the phone is OK, but says there are possible broadband and TV issues. I have also checked the HUB status overview, which says everything is OK (including broadband and TV issues). I have also checked all connections, rebooted and reset the HUB, but with no effect. Any ideas? Regards, CliffSolved52Views0likes5CommentsSetting up phone in new house
So, I moved into my new house in May. At first, I didn't want to bother with a landline, but now my Mum is saying she can't hear me when I ring her on my mobile, so I need to set up my landline. I tried plugging my phone into the socket on the wall but it says "out of range" and there's no dial tone. Please can somebody help?!!37Views0likes3CommentsSwitching number from Sky
I placed an order with Virgin Media on 8th August for broadband and landline service for my 76yo mother. I requested as part of the order to switch the existing number from Sky. This has been confirmed on the Contract Information Sheet that was emailed by Virgin Media. The installation was completed today and the technician advised that the port can take up to 2 weeks to complete. This rang alarm bells to me. On reading "How do I keep my phone number?" Technician Install on the following page - https://www.virginmedia.com/help/landline/install-home-phone I decided to ring 150 to ask. They said, although they can see the number port request it hadn't been ordered! They tried to action the port for me but it failed. They said the would have to pass it to a different department. I am now very worried, to the fact that I'm thinking of cancelling under the cooling off period. My mother would not cope with a new phone number. What do I do? Please offer some advice. Thank you.Solved76Views0likes3CommentsOld phone cable to the telegraph pole
An engineer was out recently, and made a change so my landline phone is connected to the router. I forgot to ask at the time, but does this mean I no longer need the cable that stretches from the telegraph pole to house? I've tried looking, but not been able to find a definitive answer (as least that I'm comfortable with).113Views0likes7CommentsCharge for call not made
Hi - There seems to be quite a lot of people with similar queries... I've just noticed on my latest bill that I've been charged for a call outside of my Talk plan I know I haven't made. It's just 1 call, no phone number listed, for exactly 1 minute costing 40p + 8p VAT. As I don't know what this is or how it could have occurred and I fear it will keep appearing unless I find out the root cause of it! Has anyone got any advice on how this has happened? Has my phone line been compromised in some way?47Views0likes2Comments
