Ps5 + Virgin issues
For the last 2 days I’ve been having issues with my Virgin broadband and my ps5, all speed checks etc come back fine but whenever a game needs to request data from a server or connect to a server there is connectivity issues which either fails or takes forever. Ive tried contacting Virgin who says there is an issue with an error saying “Hub levels out of spec - engineer required” but I’ve now seen multiple posts on Reddit all have issues and the only thing in common is Virgin broadband. I have tried everything i can think of so any suggestions would be appreciated. tried a reset, modem mode, turning off smart channel, trying a guest network, port forwarding, wired, wireless, messing with settings on the router itself but it works perfectly fine on my hotspot so i know this is a virgin issue with ps5s85Views3likes7CommentsPlayStation 5 Upload Speed Very Slow
I recently purchased a PlayStation Portal (streaming handheld) and have not been able to use it because my PS5 console upload speed is too slow to maintain a connection. My Virgin Media hub is in modem mode, connected to an Asus GT-AX6000 router. A speed test completed on the Asus gives an average of 90 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload. This is more than enough to stream up to the web and then down to the Portal. On my PlayStation console the speed test shows 90 Mbps download but only 3 Mbps second upload. It is this very slow upload that is causing my problem. Sony recommends 5 Mbps minimum to connect to the Portal, and 15 Mbps upload for the best connection. I am testing this with no other network traffic competing for the bandwidth. My PS5 is connected via Ethernet. I have tried connecting the PS5 direct to the modem (no GT-AX6000) and it doesn’t help. With the GT-AX6000 connected I have also tried prioritising the PS5 and Portal traffic in QoS but this hasn’t helped. I’ve rebooted devices and confirmed they are all running latest firmware. I have read several other posts saying PS5 upload speed is very slow (<5 Mbps) despite the connection being a lot faster, but I can’t figure out what is causing mine to run so slowly. Any help would be appreciated thanks!9KViews0likes2CommentsHigh Ping in online gaming (PS5)
Hey, I’m struggling with really high ping in online gaming, varies between 48-90 ping then sometimes shoots to 121ping. I play on my own servers I’ve tried everything possible I even have ExpressVPN router connected thinking that would help the ping but it’s still the same ping. I play on PS5 with Ethernet. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks.883Views0likes2CommentsUsing Virgin Media TV Box to connect PS5 to LAN.
Hi, I’m a little confused, I was not home when my Hub 3 was installed, but the installer said I could get a splitter to connect my PS5 to the internet via a wired connection from the VM TV Box, as I was not present, I’m unsure what he meant. I’m wondering what cable can I split and how do I connect up to get a wired LAN?Solved2.7KViews0likes6Comments2/3 playstation 4/5's on the same network
Hello, whenever my partner and mother in law (on 3 seperate playstations in the same house) play call of duty zombies (Cold war) one of us eventually disconnects, ranges from 15-30 minutes or so, but it does happen. We remain in the same party chat on the playstation and nobodys playstation disconnects from the internet (Hub 5) so just wondering why this might be? - i'd understand if something was clashing, and if the systems would completely disconnect from the network, but this does not happen. Has anyone experienced this, and if so, could anyone shed some light as to what the issue might be, its been a pain for months, even when we had a hub 3.781Views0likes2CommentsPS5 connection issue ( work with wifi, but not with Ethernet cable) HUB3
