TV box keeps rebooting

My TV Box is stuck in a Boot cycle where it won't get past the Welcome screen / Starting up screen.  Tried turning off at mains or on remote and still won't work.  Looking at other Posts this sounds like the box might need replacing. Please help

Your assumption from previous posts, is correct. You've posted in the TiVo forum so I presume this is the box you have.

Your only option now, is to contact TV faults to report your box fault. They should arrange either a tech visit, or a replacement with a V6 - providing you have VM home broadband. This box runs the exact same TiVo software but on much newer hardware.

Thanks for this, I'm not sure if I have a TivO box - how do I know which TV box I have?

actually I think I have a TV 6 box, I'll post a new thread on the correct forum now.

The only reason for mentioning the TiVo/V6 difference was that there is a key sequence that can sometimes recover a V6 stuck in the boot loop - try turning off the box using the switch on the back of the box; then on the front of the box hold down both the power button and the - (minus) button at the same time. Then turn on the box again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.

No need to create a duplicate thread for the same problem, that's now been merged together and the combined thread put into the V6 forum for you.

Thanks I've tried this but to no avail.  I think I need an engineer out to replace the box - please can someone from the Virgin team arrange an engineer to come out.
