Tonight I had issues with TiVo box not working and kept restarting for 1.5hrs. Had arranged for engineer to come out tomorrow but when I tried putting it on again later it was working just had to set up my remote, but have just noticed the 96% percent of recordings my husband had recorded have all disappeared. (Yes he does record a lot and is fuming as these have gone) seen a post earlier regarding this but not sure if they were able to have all programmes back? I had cancelled appointment once tv was up and running again. The box is only a few months old due to previous issues we were having.

If the disk space remaining has dropped, and the recordings aren't in the recycle bin, then the only sensible conclusion is that they've been wiped as part of whatever reset happened.

You have very little chance of retrieving recordings if there is a box issue. I have a feeling the box hard disk is packing up. Even if it is not that, the box is rented & the recording facilities provided by VMs service are “for the purpose of viewing a programme at a more convenient time”. This is called time shifting & is designed as a temporary storage medium & not as an archive.
