After lots weeks of being unable to get ON DEMAND, engineer came, didn’t know why, changed a cable to wi-fi. My ITV Hub changed to ITV X. On trying to watching a program on ITV X seems when I try to fast forward or rewind Not applicable comes up! Tried to get help by phone, no help! Was sent a new remote! Still not working, getting really fed up with VIRGIN and it’s poor customer service! and problems with their service!

Not sure. I did Google quite a bit and came across something for ITV that indicated I needed to register, tried to do that and a day or so later it came back with 'not approved'. But maybe I was trying to join something else.
I also found reference from Virgin somewhere about using 'your normal login' but it's not prompting me for a login and I wouldn't know what to use anyway since I don't have to login for Virgin services. I did create one for iPlayer a long time ago, but that prompted me on the TV screen.

Hello PaulH2011,
Thanks for your reply.
ITVX is an App that we supply on our service.
You will need to register an account with any email address you choose to use.
This is best done on an alternative device, Once you have registered, go back the your box and use these details to sign in with.

Register where? How?
We can get programs via ITVX, it's just the fast-forwarding that doesn't work - freezes the picture, we have the the Virgin package that's supposed to allow it.

Thanks for coming back to us PaulH2011, if you're using a tivo or V6 box, please can you try the below to clear your boxes cache, which will hopefully resolve the problems that you're having.
Home > Thumbs down > Thumbs up > Play > Play > Play
Please let us know if this works for you or not.
Kind Regards,
Steven_L

Thanks but no change - V6 box.
The Home screen did go off for a couple of seconds at the 2nd or 3rd press of Play so it certainly did something, but going into ITVX whilst Fast Forward and rewind did move the progress line back and fore pressing Play just froze the screen at where I had pressed FF. Further presses of FF and rewind moved the progress line but the screen stayed with the same freeze frame as before. Pause did nothing, only the down arrow did anything - going back to the ITVX main page.

Hi Paul,
Thank you for reaching back out, sorry to hear you are still facing the same issue and what had been advised didn't work, have you tried what GraemeJohn advised again to see if this works?
Regards
Paul.

That says: "If you’re a first-time user of ITVX, you must set up a new account. During the sign-up process, you may be offered an upgrade to ITVX to watch content without ads, but this is unnecessary if you have the Sky Ad Skipping TV package."
But as I said before where do I sign up? I spent some time Googling and did find a registration page, but it said my application would be reviewed and after a couple of days it came back and said I wasn't eligible.
So have you (or anyone else) signed up? If so where?

Hi @PaulH2011
If you already had an account with ITV Hub then use those same details to sign into ITVX.
On the V6 after opening the ITVX app, press the left navigational button and scroll down to Settings
There is another navigation menu at the top of the next screen, using the navigational button again keep scrolling across to "Sign In"
On the next screen that opens you are given the choice to sign into ITVX - if you already had an account with ITV Hub then use those credentials to sign in.
Otherwise click on "Create an account", as indicated on the screen by going to www.itv.com/watch/user/register on another device such as a computer, tablet or mobile.
There is also an online help page on the ITVX website explaining how to register for an account
https://support.itv.com/en_us/how-do-i-register-for-an-account-H1PkBAYzi
You can also register or sign in on a computer from the following page
https://www.itv.com/watch/user/signin
Once registered on a computer, tablet or mobile you can go to to ITVX on your V6 box and click on Sign In.
Follow the instructions on the next screen by either scanning the QR on the screen on your phone/tablet, or by going to itv.com/pair and entering the 6 digit code shown on the TV screen from your V6 box

That was the information I was asking for nearly a week ago, so thanks.
I went to www.itv.com/watch/user/register on another device and tried to register but it said I already was - I don't know how. I asked for a password reset, did that, then signed in (with 'keep me signed in') and got the same screen as I have done from the start when going into ITVX on the TV.
On the TV I went into the app, down to Settings and selected that. The next screen was mainly about parental controls and although there was another menu across the top there wasn't a sign-in option, only as here.
Back to Home and started playing a program, ads came on, tried FF and the progress bar moved but the frozen frame of the add stayed on the screen when I pressed play or pause. Then I randomly tried the left and right buttons on both parts of the remote, and the play and pause on the lower part, and suddenly the program proper started playing and I could FF and Rew through it. However it was really clunky not having any idea where I was in the program until I pressed Play again, like iPlayer used to be on Tivo.
I came out of that, selected a different episode, play, ads came on, FF, the progress bar moved with the frozen frame of the ad showing, but this time pressing various buttons on both parts of the remote did nothing and all I could do was come out of it back to TV. Maybe I didn't press the magic sequence this time, I'd love to know what it is!

You haven't scrolled across far enough. The last tab on the navigation bar showing on your screenshot says "About" - keep scrolling across after that and you will find the Sign In/Sign Out icon

Press FF to fast forward, it starts at speed x2, pressing again and it's speed x6, again and it's speed x12, speed x30, speed x60
Pressing the Play button from there resumes playback
