On trying to watching a program on ITV X seems when I try to fast forward or rewind Not applicable comes up! Tried to get help by phone, no help! Was sent a new remote! Hi @CC9
Which TV package are you on?
Info below from https://www.virginmedia.com/virgin-tv-edit/tv/itvx-how-to-watch-and-best-new-shows-and-movies
As an added bonus for Full House or Maxit customers only, when catching up with shows on ITVX, you can fast forward through the ads (not available on Stream). Pretty nifty, eh?

The whole point of ITVX is to get you to watch the adverts.
The STV Player has much the same material but on TV 360 does allow the adverts to be fast forwarded but only at x6.

ITV Hub was also changed to ITV-X by ITV on Dec 8th, that wasn't a Virgin Media change.
If you want to avoid watching adverts on programmes that are broadcast, better to record them rather than rely on VoD
For content that is only on ITV-X, your complaint should be directed at ITV.

I have Maxit and when I try to fast-forward it just freezes. It won't restart, sometimes it will go back to the beginning and start playing, but that's it. I have to press the TV button or My Shows to get out. Having just changed from Tivo to V6 BBC iPlayer is now miles better, but ITVX is worse then iPlayer ever was. 'Nifty' it isn't!

Maxit is just your TV channel package, it has no bearing on how apps work.
If a TV box is regularly freezing, there may be a fault with it. But apps not liking fast forwarding or restarting is usually part of the design. It's why recording programmes is usually preferable given the choice.

Read what newappolo posted which is an excerpt from the ITVX on Virgin Media info:
"As an added bonus for Full House or Maxit customers only, when catching up with shows on ITVX, you can fast forward through the ads"
If the Virgin info is incorrect then ITVX via the Virgin all is pretty useless.

I totally stand by my previous suggestion of recording programmes rather than rely on apps & streaming, but...
I must apologise, and being on Maxit myself I've had a play with ITV-X (really don't use it much/at all) it is indeed possible to fast-forward through the lead-in adverts and through programme content. It's damn-fiddly though, prone to random black screening and needs constant pause/play button presses to get anywhere.
Nowhere near as seamless as in-house VoD and not a patch on watching a recording.

We have always recorded stuff when we see it in the schedules (yes using series link when appropriate) - that was the main purpose of getting a Virgin box in the first place, but also used Catchup when we had missed something or wanted to see an 'old' programme, and now we can't. This appears to fast-forward judging by the 'progress' bar at the bottom but when pressing play again it just freezes. Pressing various buttons in that area either does nothing or puts it back to the start, and the only option is to exit the app altogether. Still waiting for information on whether this is an app problem, a Virgin problem, or a problem with my kit.
As the Amish say "'Progress' is not assumed to mean 'better'".

I Googled this issue and found this link, does this help with ITVX? https://itblogpros.com/how-to-fast-forward-itv-hub/
