Had email to say Netflix won't be supported soon on Tivo but can have free swap to V360, happy to go ahead but how do we speak to someone in the UK these days, no offence but difficult to understand the foreign call centre guys?

Just be aware there are a lot of differences between the two platforms. Have a read on the Forum as some people dislike the 360 with a vengeance.

To add to the previous response, Netflix is fully supported on the V6 which runs the exact same software as your TiVo - on the same hardware as the TV360.
A change to TV360 is akin to changing between Apple & Android, so make any change with an informed mind.

Just to clarify, it’s the TiVo that will be replaced

Indeed so. And there's 2 possible replacements for a TiVo
Clear upgrade to a V6. Or an arguably sideways move to a TV360.
Both run the same hardware. V6 runs the same TiVo software, TV360 runs Horizon software that's different.
There are pros & cons of both.

You can't mix V6 and 360 boxes on the same account, so although only the TiVo will be replaced by a 360 mini box (with no hard disk or tuners), the V6 will also be converted to a 360 master box (they use the same hardware but have different software).
As mentioned, there are a lot of features missing from the 360 compared to the V6, which have been covered many times on here, so it's definitely worth checking what you'll lose.

All TV360 boxes have tuners, that's what makes live TV work. The minis have a short ~4 minute buffer for pausing live TV, as opposed to the more lengthy pause that a hard drive provides.
All the recording facilities are indeed provided by the hard drive on the master box. Although re-reading this thread, I've realised that @notmyrealname might indeed be hoping to convert their TiVo > TV360, but keep their V6 as a V6. As pointed out by @Tavis75 - not possible. The conversion is either every box in the house, or nothing.

Ah yes, you're right, the mini's do have tuners but just for live TV they can't be used for recording as far as I know, so you are limited to 6 recordings at once in total, rather than 6 per box (though to be honest it's unlikely that 6 won't be enough in almost all cases).

@notmyrealname doesn't specifically state that they have more than one TV set top box.
If they do have more than one set top box then I suggest that they ask for the tivo to be swapped out for a V6 box. That way (if they do have two TV set top boxes) then both will have hard drives and they can switch to TV360 at a later date.
Migrating to TV360 would then be an over the air process to the V6 boxes, ensuring that notmyrealname retains two boxes with hard drives.
