What's the cost of installing the second TiVo/360 box?

We have a second box which has never been connected but is part of our package. The cable was never installed. I'm wondering what it would cost to route the cable (we need the incoming cable split and the second one routed upstairs)?

The only option I can see at the mo is to install myself by splitting the incoming cable and routing it myself.

£25 is the standard call out charge though if they sent a second box as part of the package then there should not be a charge.  Ring them up.   Oh do not do any DIY on the cables as it's not allowed and you'd probably interfere with your channels etc

Hi dobbleshaft,

Thank you for your post. As confirmed by 1701-e there is a £25 cost for an engineer visit for moving equipment,

If you would like this to be arranged please do let us know.

Thanks all but this is nothing to do with moving equipment. We never had the cable installed for the second box. If it's going to be of no cost and provided it can be routed the way I want it (through accessible roof space even if with my help) then I'm happy to have Virgin Media staff doing it even if it will cost £25.

If you can you install some trunking and a pull cord that might help.

Hi @doobleshaft

It would be £25 call out fee. Would you like to proceed?

Best wishes.

Need a helpful hand to show you how to make a payment? Check out our guide - How to pay my Virgin Media bill

The OP cannot be charged as it's a mandatory installation for the second box which is part of his package.

I have to do some linked work first to clear access which is not going to be completed until at least this weekend. Will the engineer be able to fit a socket that has the Virgin connection and the TV aerial? There's only one space there for it and the aerial cable is already in place.

They would run off WIFI but you would need them connected yes.

We could get an engineer down to install this if you wanted this option,

New around here?

As explained to us by the engineer this week currently the wifi connex to the extra box only works for catch up TV not live pgms and you can only watch what is on the main box unless its cabled in. This is until the arrival of the new wifi (fully functional) TV boxes sometime later this year or early next year. He had recently been to a training meeting on these.
