I’m asking for family member. She has been informed that she needs new tv box to continue watching Netflix from November . Virgin will issue a free Virgin TV 360 box . She has never had internet in house. Will the 360 box work without internet connection.

Virgin V360 is a server based TV system, not to mention the V360 box does not contain an internet modem. Therefore Broadband is essential.

Sadly not, the 360 box requires broadband to work to it's full potential.

However, more to the point if your family member has never had internet in the house how is she watching Netflix?

At a wild guess, it may have been the old TiVo that had it's own built in modem, and maybe that's why the thought of "no internet", as in "no wifi box" ?  Who knows ....

Thanks for posting and welcome back to the community.

Your friend would need to upgrade to have Broadband for any 360 upgrade. If you can get your friend to contact the team, they can go through the options;

It is TiVo box, she can access Netflix through this.  as she is 80+ years,  internet is a bad idea. Surely Virgin should know she has no internet service to work alongside 360 box 

I think the emails sent out are because the current boxes are no longer supporting Netflix after a certain date.

Without internet it won’t work at all, even for recordings as the master list & recording location are linked to the headend server over an intranet.
