Hello RisoLC,

Thank you for your post and welcome to our Forums.

Really happy that everything is okay now after the purchase of the adaptor.

Can we help you with anything at all whilst we have you on here?

Yes !!!!!!! Thank you , you made by day. I was using optical cable since 6 month because of this problem. I can return to my Hdmi ARC.

On our wavelength

Why should we have to purchase an adapter.?

I know this is an 'old' topic but I'm having a similar issue with my HDMI/ARC-connected soundbar not working at all with the 360 plugged into a normal HDMI socket on my TV. Does the cable from the 360 plug into this adapter and then the adapter plugs into the TV?

Hello Moggyman.

Thanks for your post.

That's very good question to ask, and I will try and answer this to the best of my knowledge with is being a 3rd party product.

The CEC less adapter would plug in the back of your TV then the HDMI cable would go into that. How it works? I cannot answer that sorry.

But in a nutshell it will work with our 360 box and your equipment.

Hope that helps.

If you need anything else, you know where we are.

I have “exactly” the same issue.

Re. The adapter exactly what lead do I apply it to and where does the CEC less adaptor fit into please ?🙏

Hello Help01.

Thanks for joining this thread.

We did have the same question as yours back in July this year.

The original poster that asked the question never came back to us so I'm guessing it was correct.

The CEC less adapter would plug in the back of your TV then the HDMI cable would go into that. As it's not a Virgin Media product this would be answer as far as we know it.

Hope that helps👍

Could you please keep us posted how you get on.

Up to speed

I didn't get the adapter in the end as it was my brother's new TV that I was working on and once the optical connection was working he took the "If it's working then don't try and fix it" approach! Pity as I'd like to have tested it out.

Having checked back, purchased £10 CEC less HDMI adaptor. Inserted into TV hdmi slot, then placed 360 HDMI into that.

Worked first time of asking.
Can someone pass this GOLDEN data to Virgins Engineers as I have seen 3 in a week and they were unaware of the how to fix the issue. The 3rd Engineer thought the fault was with my TV.

Fortunately, we have this community to support the harder issues. If the Engineers had this data it would reduce unnecessary call outs and let them support the really needy calls ?
