Subtitles

The subtitles have gone missing on itv1+1 - for the second time in a week. All other channels are ok- where are they?

Virgin 360 box. Got 2 boxes and it’s the same on both. Got Freeview tv in kitchen and subtitles are on that one🤔!

I have a 360 and have just checked Born form the same stranger on ITV1+1 on channel 303 and the subtitles are working for me.

Are there any particular programs missing the subtitles?

Have you checked for any local issues using the /check-services/i  link?

You can also a run a test on your equipment from there. 

Does the ITVX app have working subtitles?

They're working fine on my V6 also.

All progs on itv+1 have no subtitles! Same thing happened a week ago and they came back 3 days later🤔! No problems on any other channels.

Thanks for your post. Sorry to hear you weren't able to find subtitles when watching ITV +1.

I've just checked the channel now and subtitles appear to be available (The Chase is currently on).

They’re still not on either of our boxes-but no problems with any other channels-very odd🤔!

Thanks for coming back to us on this. We're sorry that this still isn't working for you. At the moment, all channels with an audience share above a certain number must offer subtitles for their programmes. (That's the rule according to the broadcast industry watchdog, Ofcom.) The amount of subtitling varies widely across channels, but many broadcasters do much more than they have to. We promise that whenever subtitles are made available by a broadcaster, you'll be able to see them on Virgin TV.

It seems a little strange that they do start working for you every so often. Can you try turning off the subtitles on the box, rebooting it and then turning them back on to see if this forces things into working for you?

The subtitles have disappeared this morning on itv too-as well as +1- on both of our boxes!
