How do I stop my 360 box turning off completely when I turn my tv off at the socket?

I have found that turning off my tv at the socket also turns off my tv box when I need the box on standby. I have unlinked the box from my tv, turned the auto on thing to off on my tv box. Tried to unpair my tv via the 360 box but doing the hold tv button and rewind does nothing. Any advice please? Didn’t have the same issue with my sky box that was linked. Cheers.

As long as you are not switching the 360 off at the plug if the 360 is set to fast start or active start then it should stay in a Standby mode where it can still record and receive updates, if it's set to eco then it is a bit like switching the box off.

Press Home > Settings > System > Standby power consumption and select Fast or Active start.

Active start is the best compromise between performance and cost.

Thank you ever so much. I’ll try that. I had recently changed it to eco. 👍🏻

So when it goes into standby it will still record ? I'm only asking because the longest standby is 24 hrs. I'm away from home Friday night till Monday morning . When I get back box is on a red light

The Standby timer doesn't affect the recordings, the box will go into standby mode if it's not received any interaction (channel change for example), you need to have the box set to fast start or active start in the Standby power consumption setting and don't turn off at the plug when you go away.

Press Home > Settings > System > Standby power consumption and select Fast or Active start.

Thank you. That was very helpful.

Glad to hear this 🙂
