I had my 360 box and router fitted last week, ever since it was fitted it won't detect the ethernet connection to the router. Every time I turn the tv on I have to connect the 360 box via WiFi.
I have checked all connections and they are secure, rebooted it several times but no joy, any idea.

You could also try a different ethernet port on the hub. Also, have you tried rebooting the hub?

Have you tried a different ethernet cable.
If you don't have another ethernet cable remove the one that is connected to the 360 box because this will override any wi-fi connection, if connecting using wi-fi works OK when switching the box off and on then either the cable or the 360 connector is faulty.
Basically if the ethernet cable is connected to the 360 you shouldn't be able to connect using wi-fi.

Hi, I have tried different ports with no joy, my hive and tv ethernet ports work OK on the router. I will have a look at another cable but I thought the white ones where specific to virgin

Hi, the ethernet cable goes from the router into a little white splitter box, I can't use a standard eternet cable.

That doesn't sound right, any chance you can post a picture because that sounds more like the coax cable that will be split with one going to the hub and the other to the 360. How many cables does the 360 have connected to it, one should be the coax cable that brings your live TV and is usually white and preferably you should have a ethernet cable connected as well unless the box is connected by wi-fi.
Edited to add that if you have an ethernet cable connected you shouldn't be able to connect using wi-fi AFAIK.

Hello AndrewGG,
Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.
Sorry to hear you are having an issue with ethernet connecting on your 360 box.
As you've tried another Ethernet cable and port on the Hub it does sound like a dodgy connection on the 360 box.
What I can do from here is arrange for an engineer to attend and swap the box.
If you don't mind, I will need to send you a private message to pass security.
If you can check your logo at the top right of your screen that would be great.
