360 box slow to turn on

Hi - my 360 box is out of sight in a cupboard so I can’t see the power light, and it takes for ever to turn on it it’s been off for a while, or even show its booting up on the TV screen.

If I’ve only just turned it off it only takes a couple of seconds and goes straight to the content

It its been off overnight for example - it takes about 10 seconds for the black screen with virgin logo to appear while it boots.

Sometimes if I turn TV and box on at same time - if Im feeling impatient I think the box must have been on and I’ve just turned it off, so hit the button again to to turn it on! But actually it was still booting so I just turned it off 🙂

Hope that makes sense? Anyway to improve it? Or stop it going into the deeper sleep / standby mode if it doesn’t use much more power?

Many thanks 🙂

Jamie

Hi Jamie

Go to Settings > System > Standby power consumption. You have 3 choices.
Fast start  - the 360 starts quickly but is less energy efficient
Active start - more energy efficient than fast start but the box takes a little longer to start up
Eco start - the most energy efficient and probably the one you're using. It uses minimal power but takes a while to start..

Active start is the best compromise, also don't switch the box off at plug that's a bit like using Eco start and it does seem like a long time when you are waiting.
