One of our Tivo boxes is starting to have more "pauses" during playback of recorded programmes or via live tv.
I cannot see a way to run a HDD check or look for SMART. Is there anything to do that as it seems HDD based to me. the other unit is fine and I have recorded a few programmes on both devices and only the potentially faulty box exhibits these pauses

Issues with live TV will be caused by a signal or tuner fault. The HDD affects paused, delayed & recorded content.
If you have these symptoms, then you simply contact VM faults to report the problem - they should arrange a tech visit who will attend and replace your TiVo with a newer V6. There is no self-service diagnostics beyond that.

There are no customer accessible hard disk test facilities on the box. The boxes are rented, so any internal fault will result in the box being replaced. If you have a TiVO box
these are now obsolete. You will be offered a V6 box (providing you also have VM Broadband in your contract, as a VM internet hub is a mandatory requirement) as a replacement.
