BRSK are installing poles in the street to enable FTTP, they say. I thought I'd already got this with Virgin via underground cabling. How do I find out what I've got?

Looking at your past posts you have a traditional HFC connection with VM.

only the 2 GIG package is currently FTTP with Hub 6, all other packages are FTTC with co-ax to the Premises.

Which is good enough to supply 1GIG Hub 5 (1x 2.5 & 3x 1.0 ports) most of those pushing their FTTP their routers dont have 2.5 ports, so you are restricted to a max of 960mbits. Have seen a lot of moans about this.

With Openreach you need to make sure your ONT is the newer one with the 2.5Gb ethernet port, as most are only 1Gb.  I believe when you get the 1.6Gb from EE the older ONT is removed and a newer one supplied to match the speed.
