XGS-PON Packages

On our wavelength

Virgin have nearly finished rolling out their XGS-PON FTTP product in my area, I was speaking to one of their guys that confirmed what they were rolling out and he said it is capable of 10Gbps symmetric.

I know you won't be able to get 10Gbps from the get go, but will they be offering 1Gbps symmetric packages or still the same bollocks and cap the upload to 50-100Mbps?

Also any one know the prices of their new service?

Thanks.

Only 52 up! Glad I'm going to City Fibre when my contracts up.

shameful isn't it having all this power, but being limited!

I have a post over at ipsreview if you're on it? https://www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/threads/how-long-does-it-take-for-virgin-pia-installs.39218/

Shouldn't last.

You're trialists at the moment, think you're getting XGSPON for free, aren't you?

Yes, 6 months free, started on 28/4 even though didn't get it installed until 17/5.

be nice for something higher 😛

Virgin Media or more accurately their parent company don't like anyone and want the world to pay for the privilege of connecting to their customers as well as charging their customers for the privilege of connecting to them.

The connection probably goes around the houses via Aorta and third parties.

just weird isn't it, need to find the IP and add it to my ping test haha
