I pay for a gig but never get anywhere close always get just above the minimum guaranteed. And I think it is being done on purpose to not just me my error pro 6 wired with a gigabyte connection does a speed test every morning at 7.42am why that time I haven't a clue but the speed is consistent 641 to 644mbps and 100mbps upload I would expect this at peak time. can someone explain to me why always so slow

What does this site show (HUB must be in router mode)?

Hi there @J0nesy

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you back.

I am so sorry to hear that you are facing issues with your speeds and a big thank you to carl_pearce for their help here so far. Have you been able to take a look at the set up via SamKnows at all?

I did take a look at that speed test and it was indeed faster so from what you are saying is my eero 6 pro that is connect to the virgin hub 4 with a 1m cat 7 cable and my pfsense router with a 1m cat 7 cable is no good as well and there throttling my speed. I find that hard to believe as we all know virgin hubs are probably the worst routers ever made I'm more incline to believe there is something in virgins network that detects the speed test from samknows and boosts the speed. Like they used to do on speedtest.net you would do few speed tests then all over a sudden it would speed up I also find it strange that if I do a speed test from other places they are just over the minimum guaranteed speed virgin says I will get what a coincidence that is.

I have just been told that the samknows link you wanted me to try and I did and it was faster but that speed test is to my router not what I actually get from my router the two are completely different so that just backs up my comments on the virgin hub it's either being throttled or it's not up to supplying a gigabyte

"probably the worst routers ever made" yes they are, but the are excellent as just modems. I never have any trouble with speed in modem mode, latest speed tests directly from my UDM Pro router:

I suggest you need to look at your equipment if the SamKnows speed test give you the correct speed for your plan.

I used to have it in modem mode but if there is ever a problem with it vm couldn't connect to it and told me to put it back in router mode.

What hub do you have I've tried a few times to get a hub 5 but just keep getting told there only sending them to certain customers.

I have a Hub5 and have never ever run any of my VM hubs in router mode. The Hub is under the floor, under the stairs, and keeps very cool.
